Sounds like you ARE blaming somebody for the considerably poor judgement shown by a group of athletes. Unfortunately, you are not blaming the athletes, but instead the person they stomped.

with all the media reports, I was expecting to see a guy on a ventilator with feeding tubes going down his throat.

but instead we got a guy who looks like typical bar fight dude.
only typical bar fight dudes don't normally press charges.

I've seen a lot of bar fights in my day.
some guys look worse than this. some guys not as bad.

only one I've ever know to press charges is the guy who's eye socket was shattered and he lost sight in that eye.

Nute, the criminal laws of the state of Louisiana get to decide if charges are pressed here, not punching bag boy. This one is past that point for a number of reasons, visibility and notoriety having taken this out of the discretion of the punchee of the first part.

But the spokesman for BRPD said it was up to the victim as to whether or not charges were filed.

I'm not in any way condoning what these players did.
I'm not saying they're innocent or falsely accused or anything like that.

Just pointing out that where I come from, a fat lip and a little road rash on your forehead ain't anything worth getting lawyers involved over. Regardless of who started the fight, or why.

I find it hard to believe that MULTIPLE guys dragged him out of a truck, beat him, then kicked him while he was down, and he only got a busted mouth.

This is not defending LSU players.
I'm not making excuses for them or anything else.

I haven't seen any pics of the other 3 victims.
Maybe those guys are in really bad shape and our guys deserve going to jail.
I don't know one way or the other with them. And no one in the local media has so much as mentioned anything about them other than reporting that they exist.

But the media is portraying it as if half the team abushed THIS guy, pummelled him like a rag doll, and kicked hin in the head/face repeatedly "soccer style".
IF this is a legit pic, the evidence does not support such a claim.

I've said all along that if this incident was as bad as the news makes it sound, our guys would have been hunted down and cuffed Friday morning instead of casually waiting for them to show up on their own to give a statement.

This pic strengthens that belief for me.
This pic looks like just you regular run of the mill bar fight.
The type of fight no one would have ever ever heard of if it hadn't involved some high profile football players.

I think you are correct.

But like I said, the media is making a much bigger deal about this guy than the other 3.

So if his injuries are the worst of the group, this story has been blown up bigger than it needed to be.

I say this with no knowledge of the severity of the other victims' injuries.
