14 times weighing 240 lbs means simply that you were being a lazy ass for the last 3 months. God helps those who help themselves.

Welcome to the league...Mo C II
Don't be ridiculous. White's issues pale in comparison to MoC.

White has never been a gym rat. Not ever. But he is a football player through-and-through.

Do you think MoC could've handled being in the shadow of Reggie Bush for 2+ years? Lendale White is much more mature and doesn't display anywhere near the self-destructive nature of MoC.

Gotta love that work ethic. Imagine how good of a player he could've/would've been if he busted his ass in the weight room.

Instead he is 252 lbs and will probably fail in the NFL. Not to make Clarett sound any better, but Maurice didn't even gain that much weight, and he was out of football for 2 years.

What killed me was every interview he did today he came across with a very clear "I have done nothing wrong, its all someone elses fault, I'm the victim" attitude.

The NFL people make mistakes like we all do, but I'm going to side with them on pegging LW a head case. A guy with his college production doesn't fall like that for just a bad hammy and no 40 time.

IMO Tennessee had an old fashioned Bengal draft today. Big college names that won't amount to a anything better than average in the NFL if anything at all.

Yeah, White says stuff is everyone else's fault, but nothing beats Marcus Vick's "I must have broken too many mirrors as a child" comment. Now THERE'S some personal responsibility :shake:

His stupid ass knows he wont have to work a single minute in his life thanks to his brother.

Spoiled little brat.

Also his "downside of being Michael's brother is that little thing get blown out of proportion" comment was good too. Yep, hate it when those upstanding, wonderful, intelligent role model guys that stomp on opposing players trying to end careers, brandish guns, and sleep with minors get a bad rep :bonk:

lol.

OK, Marcus is out in front right now in the race to be the biggest spoiled jock but the final talley can't be taken untill one of them starts referring to himself in the 3rd person. When a guy pulls that one out he is the champ.

We all understand getting defensive when "one of your own" is being grilled, but being a little objective points to some concerns.

First, while it may be true that White's issues pale in comparison to MoC's, there is a commonality between the two and their issues, namely poor judgement and deflecting blame for their actions. Granted at this time LW's actions aren't as bad as MoC's were, but it is not a desirable trait to have. Nor is the poor judgement a desirable trait.

As for self-destructive nature, well MoC is in a class all his own on that one, but one doesn't have to be as self-destructive as MoC to be out of the league quickly. If true, already failing a drug test is not a good way to enter the league. I consider this self-destructive behavior and again exhibiting poor judgement.

Now I wish nothing but the best for LW and I truly believe that he won't go down the MoC path and Tenn. may have quite possibly gotten one helluva a steal in this draft getting him in the second round. It sounds like he may have to take his own physical conditioning a little more seriously now, he doesn't have to be a gym rat, but the life expectancy in the NFL for running backs is pretty short....and that takes into account players who do take conditioning seriously.

Well, White did have 3 years of big time college production. Career TD leader at USC is not something to sneeze at. If he didn't have the bad hammy, and works out, I don't think he drops as far. Also, when everyone was criticizing him for being 250 at the Rose Bowl, he did have the best game of his career. If he gets serious about conditioning/work ethic, he has a long career. If not, he will be out of the league in a couple of years.

All of this could be true (and I think most of it is true to a degree), but it still does not make him "MoC II", which is the label I objected to.

The comparisons to Clarett are too much. At most, he compares b/c he could run a poor 40 time, seem out of shape, and still have enough talent to be productive. Hopefully he will get it turned around.

If you want MoC II, take your pick from VT... Marcus being the front runner, boneheaded decisions galore.

What did white do again? He didn't have a great work ethic as soon as his cushy college bubble burst. He had a alleged drug test. He tore a hammy. He happened to still be cushy, slightly less so than when he ripped apart an NFL-talent filled Texas D in January. Should he better conditioned? Sure, but he doesn't need to be in order to be outstanding at RB in college.

Sorry guys, methomps is right, the MoC II label is way offbase.
