hey oiler what if russell picks us over duke?
do we let robiskie go ?
Id personally like to use our final 8 schollies on players other than Russell and Robiskie. Nothing personal against them, it's all in the numbers and needs.

Russell would be more of an option if Wells goes elsewhere...we don't need to reach on him if Wells comes here. I definately don't want him as a safety as we are stacked at that position and I see him as a project who is a run stuffer and a coverage liability.

I don't take Robiskie unless we have a couple extra schollies lying around on NLI day.

with bsb's post last nite we lead for walker ashley do you take him or wilson
Two players of this quality? Different positions...take both. Maybe replace Rowell on my chart with Ashley. Rowell seems impressed with West Virginia. While DT is not a huge need, anytime you can pick up a player or Walkers quality (and screw Petey in the process) you do it. I am very skeptical of this, however and believe he is a heavy USC lean.

I do agree with daniels at fullback 6-2 220 and runs like a 4.6
With Dionte at FB, we can definately afford to pass on this, but it seems to make sense to me. I like fast fullbacks that can lead to the outside and have experience running the ball. Alex probably isn't the devistating blocker that Johnson is right now and a redshirt year to separate the two could be key. A Daniels get could also relieve some of our necessity of getting two top flite RB's if he can run in a pinch, opening the door to get a big name next year.

I'm not nearly as good at this as 86 or Nutty, but those are my opinions on the situation.

Slobberknocker you have got to take both wilson and Ashley if they want to come here. So we take 5 d-lineman. We redshirt 3 and 2 play. Worthington and maybe we could use wilson as a te or Ashley at te. They are both exceptional athletes that would really help us out.

The coaches are really confusing the heck out of me with all these offers. We have d-line we are really in on and they go and offer more. Then we have like 4 safeties all of a sudden with offers. Well work on 1 or 2 and then go from there.

Do we know the status of Ringer's academic situation? Maybe Tressel is extra-careful after having been burned a few times. I agree that we need to get more than one.
This is still a wait and see situation. I really think it has to do with grades, his return from injury, and Wells and Gwaltney.

Agreed. This does have me scared that we're losing at least one or two we don't know about (let's pray its not salley).

I don't think he is ready for the nfl yet. The only way he goes is if some scouts tell him he is better than he is. I guess this could be the reason as to why we are offering so many safeties. Never thought about that.

The only underclassman on the team who could leave early and be assured of getting drafted within the first two rounds is Hawk, and possibly Holmes. Both have already emphatically said they're coming back.

I agree he's not ready, and wasn't healthy this season. I just wonder who is leaving to allow all of these offers. A few weeks ago these offers seemed to be more justified since everything was up in the air. But we are finding more and more positions with only a few positions left where tons of recruits are leaning towards us.

Hopefully I'm wrong and we just have an unusual gambling strategy this year.

HH seems to think
Wells and
Hodge are probable to OSU.

His dad seems to be saying OSU leads for
Wilson.

Housteau seems to think
McCoy will be a Buckeye.
The 4 most likely Bucks.

That leaves 1 LB, 1 RB and another speed athlete or two or maybe stud DL.
Felder: If Saban goes to the Browns, three of his leaders (LSU, UW, and ND) are without coaches.
Daniels: Keeps waiting for FSU and LSU; et al. to offer, he may wait too long.
Lenix: Seems to be a qualifying ACT score away from being a Buckeye.
Laurinitis: Will probably decide before the others.
Gwaltney:Seems to be the coaches first choice after Wells. OSU has a solid chance.
Ringer:Willing to be patient and it could pay off.
Ashley: Call it a 25 to 30% shot. Would be a great addition.
Russell:Speed athlete. Most would say OSU is his best offer.
Rowell: See above.
There seems to be more speed guys every day. We'll see who visits. IMO the top 4 plus any 4 others would make a great class.

HH is the man so it sounds good for us

I agree with Oilerbuck ashleys was showing usc all the love and now we've moved in front ? hope its true !! just seems a little strange

Daniels will probably be a lb or fb

Felder probably stays out west or at asu,lsu

rb's: wells, ringer
wr : ?
dl : ashley, wilson (1) of the two
lb : mccoy, mathis, felder, lennix, daniels (3) if they come
db : russell SS backup plan at rb

all the db's offered lately are athletes can play db or lb possibly move to offense side of the ball Jt loves those type of players.

I think we take 10 if possible for a total of 22

If the early enrollers can count towards last year, and the people who were suspended gives us open 'shiops for 2004, then we maybe can slide in a couple more players.

So if we were to have three January enrollees .....

We might be able to take an extra three players as long as we never exceed the 85 limit.

If not and things are tight ... then that is where the greyshirts come in .....
