Lee Corso (official thread)

I like how he holds it over Corso's head while Corso jumps and swipes at it with that same "Gimme! Gimme!" look my six year old gets when I taunt him with candy and ice cream.

Your six year old could probably come closer to getting the ball from Herbstreit than did Corso...

BY TODD PORTER

If John Madden isn't the hardest working sports broadcaster in marketing, then Lee Corso is. The ESPN college football commentator is working on developing the largest following of fans - of any age - with his latest venture. Corso is seen by millions every Saturday on ESPN's "College GameDay." He's the only remaining original cast member from when the show started in 1987.

His voice also is heard on EA Sports' NCAA Football video game series. If that weren't enough, Corso is corralling the baby vote, too.

Along with Team Baby Entertainment, Corso's voice is being used in a series of DVDs that promote individual college football programs and early childhood development. "Baby Buckeye" is one in a series of videos that introduces children to colors, shapes, numbers and in the process begins to develop fandom.

I didn't know that

Lee Corso is a multi-tasker. ESPN's most prominent college football pontificator, likely alone among the stars of TV sports, works a year-round office job unrelated to sports. He is director of business development for Dixon Ticonderoga, best known for its yellow No. 2 pencils, hired in 1992 after getting to know Dixon executive Gino Pala as a golfing buddy.

I'll definitely agree that Corso is an amusing character....but I don't know if his "jokes" are more amusing than his analysis of games/teams.
