LCD HDTV question

Did the tv have a digital converter(tuner) built in? If so just use the cable going into the box straight to the tv,and see if it makes a difference(just to check existing cables from the box up).. I manually replaced all the existing coaxial shit going to my plasma in the house,and i'm glad fwiw. No reason an LCD shouldn't look nice..I'd be pissed,and troubleshooting

Did AT&T install fiber for the UVerse, or did they hijack his existing copper wire? I'm going to guess AT&T used the existing indoor wiring, and that's not up to snuff.

If it were me, I'd call AT&T and tell them to come out and fix it, otherwise I'm switching to DirecTV. The best way to get a truck roll is to threaten canceling their service.

ATT only uses fiber to the node. At best they would have ran new copper into the house or ran new cat5/copper inside. Usually cat5 unless you specify coax. There's a way you can login to the gateway and see the stats on dropped packets and whatnot, I just don't know how offhand. I remember reading about it on uverseusers.com

especially if a hurricane hits. Everyone will be out of cable for weeks (maybe months if y'all got anyone remotely resembling Charter), but you'll be sitting back watching football in glorious HD, laughing at your imbecile, natural light drinking, mullet wearing neighbors that try to tell you satellite is not reliable enough for them.

Already been stated that is not the issue, but for future reference the reason why LCD's are "bad for sports" is motion blur. Not everyone sees it, but it drives me crazy. I could go into it more, but no reason here. That is not the issue.

As stated, get a pure source like over the air, or get a DVD of a football game. That is another way of telling if it's the source. Honestly, it really seems like the source. The only way that tv would cause the issue is if the decoder is screwed up, and for that to happen it would probably be something that would happen on all Sonys. I doubt that is the case.

buy an LCD with a faster refresh rate and this problem all but disappears.
my Samsung has a 4ms refresh rate and I have no problems at all.

I see it to some extent on fast response times (my LCD computer monitor does 3ms, and I still see it for sports...of course I don't watch sports on it much), and even the 120Hz models. I am just more susceptible I guess. Most don't notice it. Of course it's not as bad as it used to be. I watched a game on a Sony with 8ms response and 60Hz refresh, I found the game unwatchable.

Not really sure where to put this question but I did not think a new thread was warranted.

Does anyone know when the TV manufacturers release the 2009 product line? I really want/kind of need a new TV. I think it would be worthwhile to just wait until the new line comes out. This way the old ones would be deeply discounted and I could see if it is worth purchasing a 2009.

Any thoughts?

I'm waiting until the Mitsubishi Laservue comes down a bit with the price. They promised it would be competitively priced, it's not. 7K is a bit much for me to shell out on a television.
I was waiting 2 years for it to come out, I can wait a few more to become cheaper.
