Really good piece Trey's journey through the recruiting process & three other incoming freshman to other schools as well.

The elder Johnson spoke with Thigpen, too.

Wilbur recounted the call like this: "You haven't been up there [coaching] two days, and you're going to tell a kid he can come up there and start, when you don't even know the personnel you have on your team?"

Excellent article. Of the 3 parts, it is better to read each recruit's story in each of the three parts than in the order that they've written it. I'd love to know who was negative recruiting against Meyer. Apparently some other coaches said he didn't recruit black players.

Most of his play makers and stud defensive players @ UF were black. All you would need to do is look @ his rosters from his previous 3 stops and OSU's last 2 recruiting classes and you can see that isn't the case. My guess is that Utah may be slightly skewed (b/c it's Utah) but w/o looking, can't imagine the other rosters showing any favoritism in #'s towards whites while Urban was coaching.

No idea if it was him but that has been a pretty standard Larry Johnson Sr. line in the past.

I think it meant that, he doesn't look after the black players, not that he doesn't recruit them.
