Excellent reference. And by the way, YES! Absolutely huge news, Tommy and Steele are going to be a dominant force out there. Feel great about the front 6 now, hopefully they help the secondary out at the beginning and we have a full on 11 silver bullets. So glad Tommy is back.
The front 6 should be the best in college football. I hate to say it but I'm glad the younger DL players will get more looks now. I think Hamilton, Abhor, Hero and even some of the incoming kids (McDonald especially) will finally get to shine.

I think the corners will be better this year with Burke and Hancock. The biggest leap has to be at safety. Ransom, Carter, Stokes and particularly Styles is a very good back end.

This defense has rare potential. It has the potential to have a superstar at every position on the defense.

DE- JT
DT- Hall
LB- Tommy
Corner- Burke
Safety- Styles

I know we aren't high on the defense right now but this defense has the potential to be the best next year. All depends what we do at safety.

Bravo Tom. My opinion is hell lead us right into the special powers group of Powers and Hicks so we shouldn't have a drop off at the position. This group is perfect for this Defense so people worried about LB recruiting should take a breath and relax for at least a couple years. Tommy got screwed on the Butkus so maybe he'll get some payback

A CUT ABOVE. Ohio State has one of the best rosters in college football – up there with the Georgias and Alabamas of the sport. There's another talented team that hails from Ann Arbor, but we don't have to talk about them here. Not today, at least.

What makes Ohio State's roster stand out from its FBS counterparts is its top-end talent. Wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg and defense end JT Tuimoloau are among the best players in college football, which was proven last week when all four Buckeyes were named to Pro Football Focus' top 50 college football players ahead of 2023.

Here is where each of those players ended up in the rankings and what PFF's Max Chadwick wrote about the Ohio State stars:

NO. 20 - LB TOMMY EICHENBERG

No linebacker in the country defends the run better than Tommy Eichenberg. Last season, his 49 run-defense stops tied for the lead among Power Five linebackers and his 20 tackles for loss or no gain tied for second. He was named a PFF first-team All-American for his efforts in 2022 and was the third-most valuable linebacker in the country, according to PFF’s wins above average metric.

Another week means more preseason awards for Ohio State's standout performers.

On Monday, The Maxwell Football Club announced Ohio State linebacker Tommy Eichenberg and defensive end JT Tuimoloau as two of 86 players named to a watch list for the 29th Chuck Bednarik Award, an honor presented to college football's most outstanding defensive player.
