Switching gears to 2018 for a moment, the country’s top-rated inside linebacker in that class — 5-star prospect Teradja Mitchell out of Virginia Beach — said he also had a great trip to Columbus.

“I loved it,” Mitchell told Landof10.com “I arrived the night before (Friday night). The game atmosphere was crazy, it was one of the loudest games I’ve attended.”

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Mitchell watched intently as Ohio State’s linebackers collected 41 tackles. He said he can see himself in the role currently played by the Buckeyes junior co-captain, Raekwon McMillan.

“I feel like I can play Raekwon McMillian’s role well,” he said. “I feel like I fit into what they do.”

Having visited Florida State, West Virginia, Georgia, Clemson and others, Mitchell said the Ohio State trip compares well to anywhere he’s been.

“(The visit) was definitely one of the best,” he said. “It was everything I thought it would be. It’s a great school.”
