LB Malik Harrison (1st Team All B1G, 3rd Team All-American, Baltimore Ravens)

With the Jones commit, does Harrison get looked at as a WR now?
I've read that's what he personally wants. The bigger question is if, for example, Victor were to commit to OSU before NSD would he still have a spot? I'm not sure. Probably would depend on number of spots elsewhere (ie. if they hit on most others they want like haskins, fuller, Victor, and a DT).

Makes sense. I'm also wondering if they still go after him as a big WR if they were able to land Bruce...

I think he's waiting for signing day to make absolutely sure where he fits in the class and continuing to take visits because it is the smart thing to do. I wish him the best of luck and hope everything works out.
Agreed. Hope nothing iffy happens with him and OSU at the finish line. I don't expect him to end up elsewhere but this has certainly not gone down like a typical city kid's recruitment.

My guess is he committed in person but was told as long as he doesn't take any other visits he can wait until NLOID to make his announcement public. And I'm guessing he is the #Zone6 reference Haskins was tweeting about...
Thoughts on his college position, Wade? I've heard comparisons to D. Lee and can see his potential at LB on film, but I would really love to see what he could do at WR.

I just don't see him staying at WR unless he can somehow increase speed while likely adding mass. Not easy to do. The most logical spot is a walk-out LB similar to Lee. A guy who can defend the bubble screen and cover the slot with his freakish athleticism. I wouldn't rule out TE but I think special teams are where he will make his mark first and I think that eventually translates to a move to LB. He has played some LB this year to go along with doing a little bit of everything for Walnut Ridge on offense. I understand when kids have a preference on position going into college and maybe he gets to put on a WR jersey for his first few practices but I think he is destined for LB. His film just looks like a future LB to me...

I would also refer everyone to John McCallister's scouting report:

The Whetstone Relays in Columbus has always been a favorite of mine. Reason – a chance to see some of the top talent in the city compete. Last night was no different.

Malik Harrison (2016) from Walnut Ridge High School impressed me last fall on the football field. Last night he impressed with effort on the track.

Last fall in the game that I watched, he was all over the field. Played quarterback, slot receiver, wide receiver, free safety, and moved up to some linebacker. Late in the game, he just took over. Guessin 6’3-215, he ran hard, caught the ball, but, most of all, he competed and was just “tough.” In that game, I thought that he was one of the top 12 players in the Ohio Class of 2016.

Yesterday, he with no technique, long jumped over 20 feet. With technique, guessin at least 22 feet.

Watched him run the 400 leg on the sprint medley. Took the lead on the back stretch and fought off challengers on the home stretch. At 6’3-215, he ran strong. Malik has the toughness and competitiveness that all top athletes need to succeed.

Since he always considers himself a really good basketball player and does the AAU thing, he must eventually make a decision between football and basketball.

On the next level, Malik will be an outside linebacker, guessin 6’4-235, who is athletic and can run. Most importantly, he will finish plays and make tackles.

Like him a lot and he is one of MSR’s top 12 football prospects in the Ohio Class of 2016.
