LB Curtis Grant (National Champion)

i think this one is in the bag for ohio state...obviously a smile that is then followed up by a bigger smile = commitment to ohio state...it has been proven in the recruitment of previous ohio state commits...the following equation is now 100% true and should be trusted throughout the buckeye recruitment process for years to come

if (reporter question) X (recruit smile) = recruit(bigger smile)
: then (recruit) = OSU LOCK

this theory is well documented however there are two occasions where it may be trumped.

1) said recruit is seen wearing a shirt or sock from another school

2) another schools coach has a dream about said recruit.

yes this can throw a wrench in the previous formula...the previous formula CANNOT have 1) and 2) to be true...so it would look like

if recruit(white socks x white t-shirt)/(no opposing schools coach's dream) + (reporter question) x (recruit smile) = recruit(bigger smile)
: then (recruit) = OSU LOCK

My optimism is growing after what happened with first Shazier, and now Lynch. It appears, the new UF coaching staff is a bit shaky with the recruits.
C. Grant and Walker would be a delightful finish as far as I'm concerned.

Lynch was an FSU commit but your point is still valid re: Shazier, Waisome and possibly Story...

UVA Waits On Linebacker Recruit
Posted: Jan 12, 2011

This year's football national signing day is exactly three weeks away.

Five-star linebacker Curtis Grant says he won't announce until signing day whether he'll play for Ohio State, Florida, North Carolina, or UVA.

This past weekend, Grant played in the US Army All-American game.

He's ranked as the number-one linebacker in the country by rivals.com, and the number one player in the Commonwealth.

Grant is 6 foot 3, and 222 pounds.

Florida is considered the front-runner for Grant's services, but Cavaliers coach Mike London has been on a roll recently, and you can't count Virginia out.

As Curtis Grant?s high school coach explained what a great kid he is, the five-star linebacker was en route to Gainesville for his official visit at Florida.

?He?s just a really special person,? said Patrick Kane, Grant?s coach at Hermitage High in Richmond, Va. ?On top of that, he?s a really daggone good football player. He?s an even better teammate than he is a player.?

A 6-foot-3, 222-pound linebacker, Grant is the top player at his position and third of any position, according to Rivals.com. Scout.com ranks him as the third-best linebacker in the country and 19th best overall prospect. ESPN also has him third at inside linebacker and 45th over.

Kane said Grant has narrowed his list to four. He has already visited Ohio State, will visit Florida this weekend and will take officials to North Carolina and Virginia in the next two weeks.

As to what Grant is looking for in a school and football program, Kane couldn?t say. He said Grant is playing that close to the chest so no coaches try to cater to what he wants to hear.

?He?s handling it quite well. He?s basically put most of it off until his high school season was over,? said Kane. ?He?s been very mature about it and handling it really well.?

Clay Burton is the Gators? only linebacker commit in the class of 2011. He has already enrolled at Florida, but could play defensive end. The Gators lose seniors A.J. Jones and Brandon Hicks at linebacker this season.

I've heard rumors that Curtis has OSU #1 still after his Florida visit but can't confirm that.

If this post needs to be removed please do so as it is a rumor.

No offense but we need a source...otherwise this needs to be in The Mill...
