Does anyone have any information on who won the Lombardi Award? I have checked a few places and haven't found any information on it, so I am guessing it is to early for the anouncement.

Dorsey.

Houston Chronicle

Dorsey was named the 38th Rotary Lombardi Award winner at the Hilton Americas, and with that distinction came the distinctive 40-pound block of Texas pink granite given annually to the nation's outstanding college lineman. Dorsey is the first LSU player to claim the award, and just the second LSU finalist. End Ron Estay was a finalist in 1971.

Congrats to Dorsey, he is very deserving of the award. At least tomorrow night Dorsey cannot win the Butkus Award. Dorsey is a finalist for the Bednarik Award, like Laurinaitis, hopefully Dorsey does not win three awards over him. It will be interesting to see if Laurinaitis can bring home one of the two awards, if not both.

so james is behind on espn's voting thing on here... im not sure how much of an impact it has on the actual outcome but i think it would be awesome for all of us to show him support.. so if you havent already voted please go do it!

ESPN.com: SPORTSNATION - Vote: College FB awards

The vote only counts for one official vote in the award voting, but that vote can be very important in deciphering who wins the award, right now Dorsey is in the lead for the Bednarik.

I think this just gives Laurinaitis more motivation. I know he is up for a couple more awards, but I would hope he looks at these two award results and gets a little mad. Dorsey had 64 tackles and 3 sacks. Laurinaitis had 103 tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 Ints.

Hopefully Laurinaitis gets some hardware down the road...

Laurinaitis did out number Dorsey in tackles, but you expect that to happen because the fact that Dorsey is a lineman. Just for the record, Dorsey had 6 sacks this year along with 11.5 tackles for loss. Not too much better than Laurinaitis, altogether I think Laurinaitis is the better overall player and team leader, but Dorsey gets a lot of hype and is greatly respected around the country, because he deserves the respect. Sometimes I think maybe he gets a little too much credit though(not taking anything away from his talent). You do not hear that much about Gholston and he had 13 sacks this year, more than double that of what Dorsey had.

I guess Laurinaitis could possibly use this as a motivation. But, personally I don't think he will. He is very humble and seems to not get caught up worrying about winning awards or being in the national spotlight. I am sure he won't mind winning an award at all though.

It is unfortunate Laurinaitis couldn't win the Bednarik. But, I am glad to see Connor win it over Dorsey. Three awards is enough for Dorsey. I guess the Butkus Award is announced tomorrow night. The Dayton Daily News said it was tonight. But, that was incorrect, the Butkus Award site says the announcement will be tomorrow night, December 7th. And then on Sunday Laurinaitis has a shot at the Lott Trophy. So, hopefully he comes back to Columbus with one of those awards.

if James decided to come back, I think he would receive some pub for a Heisman finalist. Assuming the defense plays well, and the Bucks have a good season, I really think he could get an invite to New York. Not saying he would win it, but he certainly could make a lot of noise.
