Camren's Dad, Brent Williams (NFL teammate of Mike Vrabel) says they are on their way to Columbus right now for a visit. He is still currently committed to Penn State and tOSU is the only other school they are focused on right now.
 
First thing I was impressed with on his film was how low he keeps himself, great leverage. Then comes the explosion. He never catches guys, he tackles through them. That is a very good sign early on. On top of all that he is an extremely athletic linebacker. Maybe not as much burst as Jamal Marcus, but that's fine given that he projects more as a true LB rather than a pass rushing guy/ Viper.

Given his technique when in traffic he could be really good on special teams early in his career. Like all LB highlight films though, this one was skimpy on the pass plays. Didn't get to see how well he can read the patterns over the middle, but given his athleticism and hips I think there's no reason some solid coaching wouldn't turn him in to a good player in that aspect as well.

I like this offer. Good player, athletic, and gets us into an area we haven been into much.

It's interesting to see the difference in style's the two coaching staffs prefer from Tressel to Urban. Tressel usually recruited the 230+ guys and I've seen a few guys with Urban now more so in that 210 range which I love because it gets SPEED on the field, something I think we were missing in abundance this year. Great video and here we go again with another great recruit.

Of all the major losses from the 2010 team - Tressel, Pryor, Heyward, Nate Williams, Homan, Chekwa, Posey - Brian Rolle was one of the biggest. Not a typical tOSU middle linebacker, but his speed and athleticism gave the Buckeye defense a dimension that they have never had. Camren seems like a similar type of player.

What Rolle did was all of the solid things that an MLB was supposed to do. Then, 4-5 times a game, there would be a play where the opposition looks to have the edge, or we missed a tackle. Rolle would almost always come flying in and fixing what should've been a big gain into a modest one. That is something that only elite athleticism can provide.

You can scheme things to a "t." Have all your players in the right places. Diagnose the play, and call the perfect counter play. That's coaching. But every once in a while things go wrong and someone has to make an outstanding play. THAT is recruiting.
