I was a Tigers fan growing up and watched live on TV the game when Billy Bean made his debut and got 4 hits - one of the few players in MLB history to do that. He did well for a few games and then that was the highlight of his career. As a result of that, I always followed him, but of course got him confused with Billy Beane. So sad.
