My daughter worked at the local theater this summer, and family members get free passes. So I got to see:

Pirates III
Oceans 13
Live Free or Die Hard
The Simpsons
Transformers
The Bourne Ultimatum

The last two are great action flicks.

We rented "Letters from Iwo Jima". It goes along with "Flags of our Fathers". It's all subtitles, because even though it is produced by Clint Eastwood, it's a view of the Japanese side of the war. It was an excellent movie. There is a third movie I'm going to rent. I forget the name right now, but it's about when the Japanese-Americans were placed in camps after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, those people started their own baseball team. It sounds very controversial, along with the Historical aspect of it. My Grandfather is a veteran of WWII. To this day, I love to hear all his stories over and over, again.

American Pastime

FWIW there is currently a movie being filmed about the Japanese atrocities in China (specifically the "rape" of Nanking/Nanjing) titled Purple Mountain.

Empire of the Sun, To End All Wars & Grave of the Fireflies are all worth looking into as well.

Recently I've seen:
"Borne Ultimatum"- Best movie I've seen in a while
"Simpsons"- Pretty good, I'm a die hard fan of the show
"Ratatouille"- Surprisingly decent
"Harry Potter"- Very good

I've actually had a pretty good run lately in my mind.
