I also like that movie, but the thing that annoyed me the most was the lens flare. JJ Abrams, chill the fuck out with that shit. I could take the amount in Star Trek, but it was almost too much. Super 8 was too much. Took away from the movie a little for me.

I'd be sitting there watching and see random lights. "What is that light?" ..seconds pass.. "That had better not be le.. GOD DAMNIT STOP IT YOU JUST TOOK ME OUT OF THE MOVIE"

/rant over

Strangely the constant lens flares in Star Trek drove me nuts (among a host of other issues) but I never really noticed them in Super 8.

Looks like viewing #4 will be coming up soon just to watch for them. lol

"John Carter" (of Mars) Here's the thing.
This movie followed the books pretty much but we've seen this all before. Star Wars borrowed heavily from this over 20 years ago. George Lucas was a big Edger Rice Burroughs fan. The first "Barsoom" book was published in 1917! Most of science fiction has borrowed elements from "John Carter of Mars". I read and loved these books in the late 60s! Seeing this version of the book is wonderful to me. But it's all too late. The movie is a flop because the guy who made it for Pixar(Finding Nemo,Wall-E) had never made a live action movie before! He didn't have any action scenes ready for the promo last year! Not a one!
I will buy this on DVD because I love the books and this film.
Is it worth paying $8-10 to see? No. Is it worth seeing in 3D. No.
Maybe it would be worth it in an I-MAX.

Project X - wow....good, funny, but insanely crazy comedy movie... I feel bad for the movie creators though... because somewhere someone will try to replicate it.... and it will end very badly for them and the movie will get blamed. Also.. first movie I've walked away from thinking... what in the hell could they add to the movie to make it "unrated" or "directors cut"

And it happened just as you describe:

Project X-On one hand I felt like an old pervert watching this but on the other hand it made me remember the parties I attended at that age but on a much smaller scale. We didn't have the internet back then and our drugs were mainly booze, weed and LSD. Other than that things haven't changed too much in the last 25 years.
