It gets so much better with each viewing. It's my favorite comedy of all time. I didn't think Holy Grail would be de-throned, but it was de-throned by a romantic comedy. Definitely didn't see that coming.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is your favorite comedy ever?

Yep.

I should admit that I'm not really a huge fan of comedies. So I don't watch a ton of them. But it got more laughs out of me than any other comedy..
Friday, Old School, Dumb & Dumber, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Talladega Nights and probably about 100 more are funnier in my book.

FWIW, Jason Segel is probably the best of the up-and-coming actors in that "Apatow" clique, and Russel Brand is an absolute riot. Mila Kunis is also smokin' super hot in that movie. I love the hell out of that movie myself.

I just saw Man Bites Dog for the 2nd time in my life. It's a French indie and it's about 15 years old now. It's hilarious, horrifying, graphic, and downright disturbing. If you enjoy being shocked by a movie, this will certainly do it. It's a mockumentary that follows around a French hitman who loves poetry and art. Black and white, subtitled, and if you don't speak French then some of the humor fails to translate well.

7.5/10.

"Star Trek" Great! And very, very big! :tongue2:

How Big Is the New Enterprise Compared to Galactica?
  • 725.35 meters. A whoppumental 2,379.75 feet. That's how big the new super-sized Enterprise is. Here you can see it compared against the Battlestar Galactica, the good old Enterprise, the Blockade Runner, and the ISS.

When JJ Abrams said that he wanted to put some Star Wars into Star Trek, apparently it also applied to the scale of spaceships (and matching viewscreens.) And while the new Enterprise doesn't even reach half of the 1,600 meters?that's a mile long?of an Imperial Star Destroyer, it's still amazingly big compared to the 288 meters of the old Enterprise. Maybe now you would be able to take down an Star Destroyer with a couple of these.

'Angels & Demons'...eh, decent adaptation of one of my favorite books. As would be expected, some major plot points are altered or just dropped altogether (not unlike 'The DaVinci Code'). Biggest beef with it is that it feels rushed in some areas and some of the acting is a little stiff. Decent enough thriller that I'd have enjoyed better if I hadn't read the book first...6.5/10

Ya well, Galactica would still fuck that thing up :) Imagine what a normal battlestar might do to it.

I just saw Chopper on IFC. Seen it a few times. Eric Bana's first big role playing the lead of Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read. Chopper Read - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Bana's pretty good and Chopper's an interesting character. I think I'm going to read his book after this.

What did you think of The Da Vinci Code? I liked it. I generally agree with you and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I want to go see Angels & Demons..

I also read 'The DaVinci Code' before seeing the film and was underwhelmed when I first saw it. It grew on me after subsequent viewings. It's worth seeing, especially if you haven't read the book. There are major subplots from the novel left out (the Camerlengo's relationship with the fallen Pope, the director of CERN, a major role in the book, scrapped altogether in the film, the Illuminati character's much different and less dark, the female lead's relationship with the murdered lead scientist and co-developer of the antimatter), but that really can't be helped if they wanted to trim it to below a three hour movie. Visually, it's quite stunning with the plot built around The Vatican and various churches in Rome. Having read the novel, I always thought it would be a little difficult to adapt to the screen, and that shows in a lot of areas. I also think the plot twists were a little transparent in the movie...but then again, that may have come from reading the book first. It's worth a look IMO...decent thriller, but definately nothing groundbreaking.

'Strange Brew'...truly one of the finest films ever made. Beauty.

Bob McKenzie: Fleshy-headed mutant. Are you friendly?
Doug McKenzie: No way, eh? Ra-... radiation has made... me an enemy of civilization.
Bob McKenzie: [into a comm unit] Alpha Base. This is Bob McKenzie. I have a fleshy-headed mutant in sector 16B.
[Bob shoots Doug with a toy foam launcher]
Doug McKenzie: Ahhh! Take off, you hoser.

I also saw 'Angels and Demons'. I agree with NF, it's a decent thriller but not a great movie. I had also thought that the book was very good.

Also saw 'Taken' a few days ago. It was good, and was about what I expected it to be, nothing really surprising.
