Problem is, if you're not gambling, you end up having to buy your drinks.

At least when you gamble, booze is comp.
Just sit at a machine with a bucket of quarters (or those damn slips of paper they give out, it's more fun with real money.) and get the free drinks. All they care about is that you look like you're playing. Dropping $10 on a machine for a beer isn't a good deal.

I heard his "escapades" were quite a bit overblown as I suspected.
After hanging out with him and seeing him in action I believe everything that he said. He has more game than anyone I've seen. He got at least a couple numbers from hotties the night Babe and I were out with him.

I haven't read through this entire thread, so I apologize if it has already been mentioned, but you have got to go to the Voodoo Lounge. It is on the top floor of Rio. It is an amazing bar, especially if you are like me and hate the club scene. You can go out to the balcony and witness an amazing view of the LV strip.

One other word of advice is to stay away from the Surf Buffett....even though it is only $2.99 or so.

An easy way to get past this is to act like you are playing slots...just sit down until a waitress comes up and leave when she gets your drink.

Stayed there when they first opened. Wasn't really finished, but had an ok time.

1) Get a room that faces the bellagio hotel fountains. (Across the street)

2) There is a good, well known name restaurant in the hotel, I THINK its a PF Chang's, but its good.

3) A fantastic buffet is across the street at the Bellagio, although a little expensive, well worth it if you like finer foods.

4) Go to the lobby bar at the Bellagio, ask for Dink. (Bar Tender) Get an infusion to drink.

5) Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower ($5.00) at night or go down to the stratosphere at night to see the town.

6) Just when you think you are bringing enough money with you, borrow some more, you will need it!

I lived in Las Vegas for the duration of 2004. There is a lot to see and do there that doesn't involve gambling. Be sure to make a trip to Hoover Dam. I also liked the Valley of Fire. You aren't very far from Brian's Head Ski Resort either.

There is a lot to do in the Casinos, other than gambling. You can check out the Gondola rides at the Venetian or the Roman statues at the Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace. Don't go to the Las Vegas Zoo--that thing is in pathetic shape. Whatever your interests are, there are things for you to do in Las Vegas. Watch out for motorists, that city has one of the highest vehicular manslaughter rates in the country--probably has something to do with the heavy intoxication on the strip.

Going to Vegas Thursday-Sunday for a bachelor party. We have a cabana reserved at the Palms pool/bar on Friday and a VIP/Bottle Service reservation at PURE (Caesars Palace). Anyone have any input or anything? Other than that we're gonna check out some of the casino's, do some gambling, lots of drinking, and probably check out an Industry club Thursday night perhaps?

I'm headed there are the end of the month - one thing I discovered is that all of the nice restaurants typically serve lunch until 4:30pm.

Why does this matter? Well you get lunch prices on your declicious meals instead dropping 100 bucks for two people (before wine).

You're going to be staying up till 3:00am anyway and likely eating aroung 10:00pm, why not save money on your earlier meals?

If you aren't already comfortable playing craps (forgive me if you are, and you can stop reading now), I would encourage you and a few of your buddies to learn the basics of it (pass line bet & come bet, then putting odds on the come bet). All of the bets in the middle can be a little hectic and confusing, so sticking to the basics and learning the other bets at your own pace is the best way to go, in my experience. If you have some down time earlier in the day, find a table that looks fairly empty, because the dealers and other players will be much more likely to help you and explain things than they would be at night when the table is packed. That was how I learned when I was out there with my girlfriend and her family, and to be honest I probably would have been too intimidated to learn how to play if the table were crowded and everyone was shouting and throwing chips around. I could definitely see craps being a lot of fun for you guys if everyone at the table is a member of the bachelor party, cheering or cussing at every roll of the dice.

I had a lot of fun playing roulette, too. Pretty basic stuff and no bet is really a bad one, as long as you hedge a little bit in other areas of the board.

As far as nightlife, it sounds like you pretty much have that covered. I'm not much help there because as I mentioned, I was with my girlfriend's family. Can't really sneak away and hit up a strip club  But we did go to a pretty fun bar outside of Harrah's called Carnaval. If you pass by it as you are bouncing around between casinos, you might as well stop in there for a couple shots--the bartenders do some pretty entertaining stuff--throwing bottles around, stacking 5 or 6 bottles on top of each other as they pour the shots, running around like jackasses, lighting stuff on fire, etc.

This. This. This.
It's really the only game I'll play with any consistency. Love craps - its a lifelong game that sucks you in.

Sittin here in Hopkins (Cleveland) waiting to board this bitch and head West! Unfortunately I have a 3 1/2 hour layover in Dallas. BUT, to stay positive I view it as an opportunity to get sauced up before landing in Vegas at 1pm. I'll hit the ground running, and eventually crawling...

How'd you do Magua? Win some cash? Dine at any fancy spots? Get a solid HJ under the table at the club? Pay for bottle service or get it comped? Go to see Hoover Dam? Shoot machine guns at the gun range?
