It'll be interesting to see if he gets fired after this. Started the pre-season ranked #1 in the country, ends up losing to a 6-7 Georgia Tech team in the Sun Bowl to finish the season 7-6.

If they were to fire him, do you do it sometime soon so you can get a better chance at getting the guy you want, or do you wait until after NLOID to keep the recruiting class together?

I don't think Kiffin gets fired. They will have a hard time getting a new coach while the scholarship restrictions are still alive.

I think sacrificing his dad will be enough, but you never know. The guy that Kiffin cannot afford to lose (right now anyways) is Ed Orgeron. He's their lead recruiter, and Kiffin's right hand man, but if he was to move on, then things would get real interesting. If Orgeron was to leave, that would speak volumes about Kiffin's security.

Ant also brings up a good point. Wonder if Haden wants to wait until the true effects of the sanctions are felt. Factor in all of the craziness that will be going on in the coaching profession with all of these pro openings, and a job search right now would be tough.

I believe (IIRC) Tajh was pretty close to committing to UT when Kiffin was hired, then Lane, in his infinite wisdom, pulled his offer. This guy sucks at life.

*edit* jlb beat me to it...I forgot that he was actually committed. One more for the "Lane Train". :lol:
