billmac91;1439142; said:that sounds about right....Miami is notorious for having bandwagon fans, and I can't imagine a spring game draws much excitement.
I'll never forget being in Tempe when tOSU beat Miami in the Championship. We're entering the game and a Miami fan obnoxiously says "this stadium sucks, you can't even move". My brother turns to him and says "this is what a sellout looks like. You're not in Miami anymore."
billmac91;1439204; said:I know this is going off topic....but as long as I bring up the obnoxious Miami fan, I wanted to bring up one of my most vivid memories of that game.
It was about 10 minutes before kick-off and Ohio State owns 90% of the stadium. That isn't even close to an exagerration, Miami just doesn't travel and have the alumni base, so it was a home game away from the Shoe for tOSU.
Anyways, as I'm sure many others have seen at the Shoe, once he O-H-I-O chant starts going around the stadium, it's almost comical watchimng opposing teams and there reaction.
Anyways, I might be the luckiest person on earth, as my first tOSU game was the Championship game, and the chant started and the stadium was electric. I will never ever forget, watching Miami players literally doing 360 degree turns following the chant going around the stadium. It was as if they had just realized they were definately facing a 12th man.
I also remeber, pre-kickoff, a Miami fan saying the crowd means zero.....Nebraska owned the stadium last year as well and we shut them up in the first quarter.
Regardless, I will always remember the crowd, and always remember Ohio State answering Miami early in the game after falling behind....almost metaphorically saying, we just took your best punch, now the game is on.
Unreal night....
