2026 LA DL Jahkeem Stewart (Verbal Offer)

Ohio State has offered one of the top prospects in the 2026 class.

OSU defensive line coach Larry Johnson offered five-star Louisiana defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart on Monday, making him the fourth defensive line prospect the Buckeyes have offered in the 2026 cycle.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Stewart is the No. 2-ranked prospect and the top-rated defensive lineman in the cycle. As you might expect for a prospect of his caliber, he’s picked up no shortage of offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Mizzou, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and USC. He holds 25 Division I offers in total.
The 6-foot-6, 270-pound prospect plays both defensive tackle and defensive end for St. Augustine (New Orleans, Louisiana). He racked up 20 sacks, 85 tackles (33 tackles for loss) and six forced fumbles this season.

Well, tOSU already had 'Big Thanos' (Dwand Jones), but since he's gone to the Browns, the name is open? Maybe the Buckeyes promise him his HS number, and set up his locker (when he visits) to say Big Thanos? (He might be offended and not come if it says Little Thanos.....Go Bucks!

Have heard it said that prying a DT out of the south is as hard as getting Scrooge McDuck to pick up the dinner check. Just made up that last part, but what was really said isn't fit for print. Thought today was a nice showing by some of the young 'uns on the team, saw a nice smattering of true freshmen, and some sophs. Really enjoyed the last pick, when Archie's grandson got an escort to the end zone by about 20 or so players. All tOSU can do is put forth their best side, and let the guy decide. We'll get our share. Maybe that Coach J has gone on record that he's having fun, no medical problems, and cannot see himself retiring anytime soon. Could change tomorrow, but he got a nice raise, making about $1.4 mil/yr, so mama can't say no to that. Wish we would have gotten some of the 15 or so Johnstons that matriculated through Penn St while Coach J was there.

Well, sounds like tOSU set the bar high. Question will be, is it high enough? DT from the South usually = SEC. Time will tell, and continued success by the Buckeyes might make the difference. Having the #1 D last year (total D or D backfield?) and getting better this year would help. Losing a ton or two of talent after this season, so there's a chance. PS, looks like tOSU is playing alot of young talent, which these young 'uns tend to notice. Anyway, great recruiting event for Spring Game. Can't wait for the 'free' boards start posting their results from the day. Go Bucks!
