he didn't need a three pointer. my point was I didn't agree with the run and shoot play. Especially with Buford running it when he was 2-15 on the night anyway.

This was one of those if he made it, he was the hero. If he missed, he became villianized.

He had a good look and he just missed it. He also had some time to drive in and throw the lay up.

But then again, the way Kentucky was blocking shots, that may not have been advisable.

Too many things could have, or just couldn't happen.

Indeed the only thing I noticed on offense that got noticably out of ync is we stopped playing the inside out in the 2nd half and would tend to clear out the side when we got to Sully rather then leaving a 3pt shooter on his side.

In reviewing the box score, OSU outdid Kentucky in every aspect, except fg made and blocks. OSU got ten more shots on goal, out stole, out rebounded, but their defense got 'pieces' of 11 balls. No, I'm not sure that going for the 'win' at the end was the greatest strategy, but if Buford was 2-15, he was more than due to make one......

Great game, sorry we came out on the losing score. Great team, one for the OSU books. Not certain how many pros were on the court today, maybe 3 for OSU and 4 for Kentucky, but a great college game. The kids played their hearts out, and I hope the fans back in Columbus are at Port Columbus (Don Scott?) to welcome them back. The Lady Bucks as well.

I think it's important to give Kentucky credit for some great defense. They were, all in all, the best defensive team Ohio State faced all season IMO.

I might argue for Florida State, but not whole-heartedly. And UK is most certainly more talented offensively.

Ironically, FSU and UK are coached by two men who have reputations as being relatively poor in the Xs and Os department - and who deserve better rep IMO, given how well their teams defend.

Calipari and Hamilton have gained much respect from me for their coaching acumen as a result of their teams' performance this season. Excellent coaching jobs by both men.

all right, then maybe calling a time out wouldn't have been the best choice either. I still would have tried to find Diebs somewhere. He could have Jimmered a three from anywhere.......probably would have had a better shot than what Buford launched.

I haven't looked at the replay of the last play, and frankly don't really want to, but from what I've heard, if Craft looked to his right he might have been able to hit a trailing Diebs for a great look, but not gonna blame Craft at all
