I just hope Brady and his agent remember that he was the 22nd pick, not the 3rd.

Had the Browns not traded up for Quinn, they would've spent a high pick on a QB next year, probably a top 5, almost certainly a top 10. As a result, Quinn definitely deserves more than his slotted value (22nd pick). The Browns need to meet his demands.

Shocking that you would feel this way. The love you feel for Mr. Quinn has once again clouded your judgement.:roll1:

You have to be joking if you think hes worth EXACTLY the value of the 22nd pick.

That's what I'm saying since he was selected 22nd...regardless of where he was "slotted" to go. I have no problem with them giving him a more incentive-laden deal then your typical #22 overall pick, but if you think he deserves top-10 money after falling to the bottom 1/3 of the first round, you're nuts.

Quinn was a top 10 talent in the draft and he fell because of incredible stupidy (*cough* Dolphins) and teams not needing a QB (Texans, Falcons, Bills, etc). The Browns would obviously be in the market for a QB in '08 had they not drafted him and he deserves fair money. The Browns have PLENTY of cap room too.

Top 10 pick money, its proportional to his talent and fair to Brady.
I say you are picked what you are picked. Give him #22 money with heavy performance incentives that way if he deserves top 10 money he can earn it. You could argue that Cleveland did Quinn a favor by drafting him when they did because it isn't a given that he wouldn't have slipped all the way into the 2nd round. Besides if he is really good when he gets his 2nd contract he'll be raking in the cash anyway.

Maybe, maybe not. They also will end up needing a young RB next year. I'd rather have a stud RB to build around than a marginally successful QB from Notre Ame.

Why not? That's where he was picked.....

He hasn't earned anything and thinking that he's entitled to top 10 money is ludicrous. And what's the definition of "stupidy"??

They made the playoffs then the year after Modell announced that the team was being moved MIDSEASON and they fell apart.

Well at least you know your history.....

Fair? What about what's fair to the fans that have had to deal with the shit they've called a football team these past 5 years?

I'm sure he'll get enough as the 22nd pick to still buy the Catamaran that you and him want to buy for the long romantic cruises you have planned :roll1:

Top 10 pick money, its [strike]proportional[/strike] irrelevant to his talent and [strike]fair[/strike] disproportionately generous to Brady.
The premium a QB typically nets as a 1st round pick will likely boost his signing bonus and contract terms to a relatively small degree.
But, aside from that imperative top 10 terms should not happen. There is absolutely no amount of arm-twisting the Browns can suffer to squeal and give Quinn and his agent money over the odds.
If they do give it to him then they would be extremely foolish.
