I'll take a Steppenwolfer and Barbaro exacta.........please box that.
I had to throw a few points down on the Bluegrass cat........I dig the name!
Barbaro hasn't lost a race to this date. Brother Derek is supposed to be a good horse too, but he got a bad draw.
Yea I netted 750
I would have had more if I didn't put 500 on the 75-1. I just couldn't pass up a chance like that.
I was glad to see Barbaro win also. He looked impressive enough to make one think that the Triple Crown is a possibility this year. .
I think it comes down to whether he can handle the distance at Elmont....

For those that missed the pre-race story, Michael Matz (Barbaro's trainer) was on United Flight 232 that crashed at Sioux City, Iowa in July, 1989. Over 100 people died, but an even larger number survived. Matz helped three kids get out of the plane, and those kids made it to the Derby today to pull for his horse (Matz's first Derby entry). One of the kids was there instead of attending the ceremony for receiving a Master's degree.
I landed in Sioux City a few days after that crash. It was rather unnerving seeing the parts of the plane still scattered around the runway. The media will now play up this angle of the story even more, but for me, just knowing he was on the plane that I saw in pieces near that runway was enough for me to be happy for his horse's win.
