Plus he was one of my favorite players as a kid. He could light it up from beyond the arc.

GAINESVILLE - - A source close to the University of Kentucky athletic program tells Fox 35 Sports that Billy Donovan will resign as Florida Gators' head basketball coach to take the same position at Kentucky.
The University of Kentucky has called a 4:30PM press conference in which the school is expected to announce the firing of head basketball coach Billy Gillispie. Kentucky has reportedly waited until a replacement coach is in place before letting go of Gillispie, who spent two seasons in Lexington.
Donovan issued a statement saying he is committed to the University of Florida program and would not be looking at any coaching vacancy that emerges this offseason.
BB73;1439036; said:Gillispie never signed a full contract. He's been operating under a Memorandum of Understanding, which at today's press conference, the AD and UK President stated was a "year to year' deal, to their understanding.
Sounds like Gillispie will be seeing a lawyer to sue his idiot of an agent!!!!!see if he can get more than 1 year as a buyout/settlement, but without having signed the 7-year contract, he'll probably have a tough time.
Shades of RichRod.

Memphis coach John Calipari has signed a $2.35 million contract extension through the 2012-13 season.
Director of Athletics R.C. Johnson released Saturday the details of the agreement that was announced earlier this month. The contract reflects a $500,000 increase over last year's salary and if he remains through the 2012-2013 season, he'll get a $5 million bonus.
?My position has never wavered,? said Calipari. ?As long as the school was committed to having a top-10 national program, I wanted to stay. Obviously, I feel that this has been done in the past and will continue to be done in the future.?
</H1>Calipari, who just completed his ninth season with the Tigers, told a group of reporters at Wilson Air Center today that Memphis is ?where I want to coach.?
Meanwhile, multiple sources close to the Memphis program told The Commercial Appeal that athletic director R.C. Johnson has been working in recent weeks to secure funding for additional years and dollars to redo a contract that pays Calipari $2.35 million annually. Calipari also has an annuity that averages $1 million per year over the course of his current deal, which runs through 2013.
Yet that won?t stop Calipari?s name from being linked to openings around the country, most prominently at the University of Kentucky, which fired Billy Gillispie today. Another major program looking for a coach is the University of Arizona, where Calipari could also pop up on a speculative list of candidates.
Because of the size and scope of Calipari?s current deal, which is likely to be sweetened in the coming days, the group of schools that would be able to match or exceed it is extremely small. Kentucky, however, might be one of them if Calipari becomes a target of its coaching search.
Though Memphis could lose four starters before next season ? in addition to seniors Robert Dozier and Antonio Anderson, freshman Tyreke Evans will almost certainly enter the NBA Draft, and junior Shawn Taggart could also pursue professional opportunities ? the Tigers expect to be in the title mix next year with the top-ranked recruiting class in the country.
In the fall, Calipari signed the nation?s No. 1 shooting guard, Xavier Henry of Oklahoma City, and another top-50 shooting guard in Nolan Dennis from Dallas. Two highly rated junior college prospects, wing Darnell Dodson and forward Will Coleman, also signed letters-of-intent in the fall. Earlier this month, Memphis received a verbal commitment from DeMarcus Cousins, the nation?s No. 1 big man. The top high school point guard, John Wall, is uncommitted but said recently that Memphis was his No. 1 choice at the moment.
The comfort level of Calipari?s family is also important. His second daughter, Megan, is a freshman at the U of M.
?I want to be here,? Calipari said today. ?This is where I want to coach, and my name will be tied to every job that?s open, and our fans I think have gotten used to it.?
