Kentucky 43, LSU 37 (Final, 3 OT)

I dont want to be number 1. Seeing Oregon St up on Cal 10-7 right now worries me. I want OSU undefeated #2..... We dont need the ego that comes with being the best team in the land right now.

That, to me, is a chicken shit approach. These guys don't play to be #2. Being #1 with a target on your back is what athletes live for.

I'm not worried about an ego. This team knows being #1 during the regular season doesn't mean jack. All that matters is being #1 when you wake up the morning after the National Title game.

If this OSU team gets an ego and forgets what happened in Glendale, they don't deserve to be national champs.

However, lock the gates to BP ... because here come all the SEC trolls.

If people really want a D1A playoff, 6 Billion people crying foul from a pairing of OSU and USF in the title game is probably the best way to get to it.

What a freaking game. Historic win for the Kentucky program. As for LSU, say what you want about the SEC, but that's a hell of a stetch of games, and Kentucky could possibly be kicking the crap out of a Big Ten team if they make one of the NYD bowls we (conference) play them in.

i don't think anyone is claiming that they think that players are playing for #2 nor that we want them to play for #2. what i stated earlier is that i prefer for the team to be the numerical underdog--albeit undefeated, of course--when they play for the national championship. all good athletes play to be the best. that's a given. however, in my perfect world, i would like to see the bucks play for the crystal as the #2 team.

that being stated, being #1 going into the game ain't all that bad, and i'd take it anyway my team can.

I dont mean I want to be the #2 team in the land with that respect.

I want this team to remain focused and going into a BCS game much like Florida did.... the "They dont belong" attitude does wonders for your teams motivation.

I guess what I said came out wrong. I'd prefer them be #1. Ohio State doesn't need to play the role of under respected underdog with something to prove. This is Ohio State.

Also, being #1 guarentees the spot in the title game. #2 can be jumped by #3. If #2 jumps #1, Both are still in New Orleans.

That was my previous point. Whether OSU is ranked #1 or #119, people are going to be telling them they don't belong in New Orleans this January.

I don't think anyone takes anything for granted this season.

Frankly, I've been wondering if we started this whole upset bonanza back in January. It would be fitting if we were able to set the universe to rights this upcoming January. One week at a time, though...
