Kent State - Ohio's 2nd Best Team

So who gets to go to the Rose Bowl if unranked Wisconsin wins the B1G. :p

Wisconsin, just like the winner of Rutgers and Louisville this weekend will still go to a bowl game.

Kent State wouldn't replace the Big East or BiG champion, rather they would become an automatic qualifier for a BCS Bowl by finishing in the top 16 and above a BCS conference champion. From what I have read, Oklahoma (assuming they win on Saturday) would be the team left out of the BCS Bowls as an at-large.

My bad. Took me a second to figure it out. Is it just me or does the Orange Bowl always seem to be the one that gets screwed over with a shitty matchup? Probably helps the Rose Bowl that they get to match up B1G vs. PAC so they are lest likely to get stuck with the leftovers.

Agreed. This year the absolute worst case scenario for the Orange would be if Kent State wins the MAC and Georgia Tech somehow upsets Florida State this weekend to win the ACC (Orange Bowl's tie-in).

Georgia Tech v. Kent State for a $50 million payout (and Kent State being the more deserving team). :yow1:

I think Kent State vs. Georgia Tech would be a decent game... nobody wants to see a rematch of Kent State/Rutgers in Miami

I think the options would be KSU vs FSU or KSU vs GT since the ACC champ will go to the Orange Bowl. As someone that doesn't want Kent to get murdered I would rather see GT, but FSU seem much more likely.

Worst potential BCS bowl ever? A Kent State-Ga. Tech $50M Orange Bowl fiasco

Unintended BCS consequences? Try an Orange Bowl matchup between Georgia Tech and Kent State worth $50 million.

A $50 million matchup where the most significant win for either team is an argument between North Carolina and Rutgers. A $50 million BCS matchup where Kent State -- with its glorious history of two bowl games in 93 years of competition -- wouldn't be the ashamed one.

Cont'd ...

Media has now taken it upon themselves to trash Kent State...apparently forgetting the Pitt team that got skeleton-fucked by Utah in 2006 (I think it was). If the Big Suck can be a BCS tire tread every year, then why not let a smaller school (who beat what could be the BE champion) get a chance. Fuckers.

I remember UConn getting demolished by Chokelahoma in the Fiesta not so long ago, too.

If they don't like teams like Kent taking BCS spots away from non-AQ teams they should rework it to allow them to take the spot from the lower ranked AQ team. Why not just take the top 10 ranked teams in the BCS with a limit of 2 per conference?

That would leave this as your top 11 with Kent needing FSU or Nebraska to lose:

Notre Dame
Alabama
Georgia
Oregon
Kansas St.
Stanford
Oklahoma
Nebraska
Florida St.
Clemson
Kent St.
