Sad the second half of his career was so plagued by injury. In his first 10-11 years, he was the best player I've seen with my two eyes.

I can probably say the same...saw him hit a homer as a rookie in Oakland against the A's...great kid, great career.

Easily my favorite player ever in baseball, despite how much injuries destroyed his second part of his career. Hopefully he stands as one of the few players who played the game right (ie never took steroids). Hopefully he is a first ballot HOF member. I'm kinda [censored]ed I never went to KC last summer to watch him play.

I assume that's from the series where they took the Yankees down, one of my all time favorite baseball memories.

Jr. is a prime example of how baseball should be played. Injuries derailed a career that was going to own every major hitting record in the MLB. My favorite player of all-time and a even greater guy on and off the field.
This^^^^^^^
One of the best ive ever seen. Had the best pure swing of any baseball player i ever saw in my life. And a class act on and off the field.
