Kellen Winslow Jr. (not a good dude)

Personally, I'm not going to walk up to any athlete and try to make friends. I'm a Browns fan my whole life and I can't stop that, so I'm interested in just winning baby.
i hate when people sell out for their teams. i hated Eric Lindros, Bill Romanowski, Warren Sapp, and Dieon Sanders before they were traded to my teams and i hated them on my team. i wouldnt applaud a Lindros goal and im glad he's gone.

dont be a sell out.

I can be a real dick sometimes too. So I wouldn't really consider myself a sellout.

You have your principles. And I'll be okay with mine.

You gotta be kidding if you think that because Winslow gets all the pub that he's the only megalomaniac walking around for the browns or any team that I might like.

I'm from Akron and have lots of St. V and Hoban friends who've met LeBron and do not have good things to say about his attitude whatsoever. Do I still want LeBron to do well? Shit yeah.

This is sports man. This ain't about being the mother theresa. Winslow is another babied athlete. I'm about giving people the benefit of the doubt.

I think it's okay to hate Miami Hurrican Winslow. But I will clap when Cleveland Browns Winslow scores touchdown. That's the fun of the transition from college to pro. I loved seeing Eddie run a little here, a little there against my Browns but I did not want to see Eddie actually win against my Browns. See. I'm just different than you are. Call it what you will

i call that stupid. hes the same dickhead.

no, actually he's a bigger dickhead. im no browns fan....so i dont care who is on the team.....but this dickhead wouldnt get any of my praise. you think because he is a brown now that he respects ANYBODY on that team? he didnt even respect sean taylor......somebody who was BETTER than him. he doesnt respect miami's players or coaches.

cheer for him if you want....i dont care about that either. but thats selling out.

I was hoping he would never sign.....sigh

SLICKMAN.......

Your point that this is just sports is not entirely correct, if this was just a sport, do you think Whineslow would be complaining about a few million dollars?

I have tried to give this guy the benefit of the doubt but he continues to show how much class and professionalism he has, which is exactly none.

He is disliked by his teamates at cryami and now he will be disliked by the veterans on the Browns. I am a life long Browns fan and it disgusts me everytime I think about the direction Butch Davis and the management has taken this franchise. I mean Bitch Davis passed up on Clinton Portis for William "I smoke weed" Green.

I believe that Winslow will be a distraction and he doesnt fit in with the team concept, he is only out for himself and if they win why he is out for personal glory, then they will be lucky. Just think the kid hasnt even caught a pass in the NFL and he now has made more money than his father did in his career!.

Yes the kid has talent, but there is something to be said for a player with talent who actually believes in the team concept and sacrifices individual stats for the team, in other words, accepts his role. I believe he will be a negative impact in the locker room which is not what you want.

of the BP FFL.

Rangers (NHL), Reds (NL MLB), White Sox (MLB), Bulls (NBA), Raiders (NFL), Syracuse (NCAA BB), and of course....THE Ohio State University (NCAA everything).

dieon = reds. not a die hard reds fan....but my brother and dad are, and we go out there to a game when my dad goes back out to ohio every year. actually....they are both there today to watch the game (while im stuck working :smash: )

White Sox are my real MLB team.

Paint the endzones...he'll catch about 600 yards worth of passes and have about 3 scores, all the while complaining he doesn't have anbody to help him, when his contract basically prevents picking up any more meaningful offensive players. Good luck, Wins-blow.

<!-- template inline --><!-- insertinlineAd -->BEREA, Ohio -- In his first comments since being baptized into the NFL during last Saturday's preseason loss, rookie Kellen Winslow essentially challenged his Cleveland Browns teammates to match his intensity level and defended his emotional outbursts as a function of his competitiveness.

<!-- BEGIN INLINE UNIT -->
<!-- END INLINE UNIT -->As an aside, the former Miami tight end also said that he's asked defensive coordinator Dave Campo to provide him some snaps as a pass rusher in training camp.

And he said all of it with a straight face, following a morning practice in which Winslow demonstrated both his enormous playmaking skills and proved he can sometimes manage to keep his passions in check.

"I only know one speed and I'm going to go 100 percent every play," said Winslow, the sixth player chosen overall in the draft. "I think the Browns need this. We all need [to do] this. We want [to make] a name for ourselves. We want to make our identity."

The words might have seemed unusual coming from a callow rookie, even one with the special skills Winslow possesses, but Winslow did not back down. Basically, he seemed to be exhorting everyone on the roster to follow his lead, perhaps forgetting that he has been in camp only a week.

Asked to clarify his admonition, Winslow said: "I wasn't here last year ... but they only won five games."

Certainly the former Hurricane, who last Tuesday night signed a six-year contract that could net him up to $40 million and included $16.5 million in guaranteed bonuses, is no shrinking violet on or off the field.

In the preseason opener, he tussled with Titans safety Lamont Thompson. And then in the Monday practice, he took on teammate Roosevelt Williams, knocking the corner on his back after catching a pass in the left flat. Williams charged that Winslow displayed "unprofessional" behavior on the play.

The physical skills possessed by Winslow are undeniable. In the Tuesday practice, he demonstrated the ability to create natural separation from the safeties, particularly in the red zone. Just as obvious, however, is the fact that Winslow, the son of the Hall of Fame tight end of the same name, will need to mature quickly.

He acknowledged that he expects to be baited by opponents because of his penchant for losing control of his emotions. Even during Tuesday's practice, it was clear some of his teammates are themselves attempting to get under Winslow's skin. He didn't deny that he can be prodded into mistakes.

"I've just got to make better decisions," he said.

To date, at least, Winslow seems to have meshed pretty well with his more experienced teammates. There may be some who believe it is incongruous for a rookie to have tried to take on a leadership role, but most understand Winslow is a unique talent and that he will only hasten the Browns' improvement.

"I love the attitude he brings to the team," said defensive tackle Gerard Warren. "It's something extra he adds in a positive way."

Speaking of something extra, Winslow allowed he wanted to do more to help the team, and said he approached Campo about allowing him to play some at defensive end. That isn't about to happen, of course, but Winslow likely won't let the request die easily.

"He said we'll look at it," Winslow said of Campo's reaction.

I am really getting tired of this guys act already! For me its starting to be embarrasing being a Browns fan.

As much as I disliked the pick, I am starting to think he was the right choice. They have had absolutely no leadership on that team. The vocal guys never seem to deliver on the field and the guys who play hard (which there have been few) seem to be quiet. If they can get a couple of guys who play as hard as they talk the Browns will begin to improve. What, can it make them worse?
