Head Coach
it's kind of funny/frustrating that a loss last year could be so damaging to this years squad....If we win last years championship game, our 1 loss team is still in consideration for the National Title

As I type this, LSU is barely up 10-7 and actually getting outplayed by La. Tech......I know by the end of this post, LSU will probably be up 17-7 but in a year of ridiculous upsets and non-dominating teams, stranger things can happen

Even if our season ends up with 10 wins and 2 losses, just remeber where many of us thought this year would leave us...talked to my dad who said we should just be grateful we were even in this spot today, which is very true

I was just thinking... if you told me at the beginning of the season that Ohio State would only have one loss and go to the Rose Bowl with a win over Michigan, I would've been more than happy.

So here's to taking care of business next week. Whatever happens, happens. National Championship or Rose Bowl they need to finish out this season strong and emerge as a Juggernaut next season.

I'd love to see a Rose Bowl matchup with USC...getting us ready for the home and home with them!

LETS GO BUCKS!!!

11-1
Brent Musberger at the Rose Bowl: "The game we are seeing here today features, in all likelihood, the top two teams in next year's preseason polls." He said that before the 1998 Sugar Bowl against FSU and was dead on. He also said the Buckeyes would be #1 the following preseason in the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Lame.

This loss stings but it's Meeesheegan week now. The only day I really look forward to every year. Go Bucks!

I don’t think any Buckeye has any reason to hang their head today. I thought I was being realistic at the beginning of the season when I thought we would have two to three losses. I was even hoping that if one of our losses came from an undefeated Wisconsin or Penn State that they would run the table and make the conference look good in New Orleans. If we beat Michigan next week and go to the Rose Bowl this season will be an unmitigated success in my opinion.

I thought next year was our time to make a run at it, and if most of the guys come back because of this game I still think it will be. Boeckman has played well for a first year starter, but not that well. He’s made some questionable decisions all year long, and the team hadn’t paid for them until tonight. My biggest concern watching him was that the team wasn’t going to pay for them until the biggest moment (either against Michigan next week, or in the National Championship) I don’t think tonight was the worst time for it to happen if it was bound to, and hopefully now he’ll grow as a game manager and we’ll be all the better for it. Beanie hasn’t been 100% all year, yet he’s been amazing, he’ll get fixed up in the off-season and come back stronger than this year.

We have a lot to look forward to, don’t hang your head; the team doesn’t deserve our sorrow or our aggravation. They deserve our pride in them and our acknowledgment of all that they have accomplished.

OHIO FOREVER

I spent all night trying to think of what went wrong. When it hit me, nothing went wrong we lost. Losing is something that happens to people in every facet of life. Coming in to this season I do not think we expected to be in the position we were in before today. I also spent all night listening to people try to make excuses. A true Buckeye fan holds his head up high no matter what happens. That is the only thing i could say. So to all you true Buckeye Fans young and old Hold your head up high. OHIO FOREVER

This loss hurts and stings but is nowhere near the worst we have been through. I'm pretty much over it before noon the next day.

The Game '95, '96, '98 MSU and the last NC game were the soul crushers of the past 10-15 years.

I know it hurts to lose this one for me. I have been thru so many "Crushers" that I'M Pretty think skinned by now (Old too). The 69 Michigan was a stunner for me but the ONE I will never get over is the 74 MSU game at E. Lansing. The officials Literally stole that game from the Buckeyes. Granted "Sparty" played us tough that one but the way we came back to almost win it was heart breaking. Maybe alot of you younger Buckeye Followers don't remember that so pick up a copie of "Buckeye Classics" and see for yourselves.

If you've never seen this one save the time and money on the rental, just punch yourself in the nuts untill you vomit.

Not a bit of history I'd recommend getting into this week.:wink2:

Yeah, it's hard to get too dissappointed when you're 28 of your last 30, but I just can't stand to lose to a team that you're much better than.
I can easily live with the 73 RB, 80 Rb, 05 TX game, etc. where the other team is on par with or better than us.
It's the 69 scUm, 71 RB, 74 MSU, 76RB, 96 scUM, 98 MSU, 07 IL, 80's games against Indiana and Wisky, etc. where you are clearly the better team, and you lose because you played below even your average game.
i.e. I don't ever mind losing because the other guy played better, but I get mad when I lose the game and don't make them win it. That's what I feel happened with our coaches and our QB on Saturday. Obviously, over the last few years, it's not something that has been happening.
