As most of you know by now, BukiBill's wife, Pam, went through brain surgery on Thursday. Immediately following the surgery, things were going well. However, by Saturday night, things were spiraling down fast.

Her brain swelled, but they couldn't relieve the pressure because she was unable to breathe on her own. Later, she suffered a massive heart attack. I'm not exactly sure of the timeline, but at some point she slipped into a coma, that we now know she will never return from.

At this point, Pam is laying in a hospital bed, with no brain activity, brain-dead...in essence dead, but still alive by machine. Over the next couple of days, Bill and his family will figure out the way forward for his daughter and her twin daughters, all three 8 years old.

I know that some of you have expressed that you'd like to lend a hand to Bill financially during this time.

I have seen the generosity of the people at Bucknuts firsthand and on more than one occasion.

In 2005, when I returned from Afghanistan, I went to the Fiesta Bowl because of the kindness of people on the boards. About $3,000 was donated out of sheer kindness and I went to the game against Notre Dame. But, it goes beyond the game.

Last year, when Tyson Gentry needed a restorative therapy bike to further his recovery from that catastrophic injury, the folks at this board (as well as BSB and other people) donated over $25,000 to see that Tyson got what was needed.

If anyone would like to follow-through on that initial thought about helping Bill and his family out through this situation, please PM me or send me an e-mail at [email protected] and I'll organize something for them.

Either way, continue to pray and pull for Bill, Pam, and their 3 daughters.

Heater has provided an address where donations can be sent...I didn't want to post it without his approval so if you are interested in helping out the family, PM me and I will put you in touch.
