Missing my point. I'd gladly give ND a title shot, where they'd get thrashed, for OSU to move up a spot in the polls. I find it ridiculous for one's hatred of a program to trump one's love for a program. But that's just me I guess--Jake would disagree, e.g.

I think it has less to do with a OSU moving up than it does with one-loss SEC teams moving up.

Although, if there were ever year for it to happen, this might be it. Alabama's lines just aren't what they have been under Saban.

Care about recruiting? Because if you don't think Urban's using it, you're out f your mind.
Then I'm out of mind. I believe Urban brings up a lot of other selling points before he talks about what writers think of Ohio State. I don't think a recruit is going to not choose us just because we end up finishing 6 instead of the top 5.

You're right--I'm sure Urban never mentions what OSU is ranked, just like I'm sure he mentions when ND drops in the polls.

I would disagree THIS year because "for OSU to move up a spot in the polls" means NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. Such is the price of probation. Either you're part of the wishful thinking crowd who is holding out hope for an AP poll "championship" - as if that means anything - or you're just confused.

If I sound a bit harsh it's not an accident, since you felt it necessary to toss my name into your post even though you and I hadn't discussed the topic. And there's no guarantee ND would get "thrashed" by the cast of characters left at this point, so yes, my hatred of ND is front and center. OSU gaining a meaningless spot in the polls is an easy trade for a KSU-Oregon title game.

They finished in the top 5 in the AP poll? News to me.
No, they didn't, and they recruited just fine. Like Texas recently, like Florida recently, like Ohio State last year.

Here's some more news: it's not the 1992. The AP poll became irrelevant when they stopped factoring it into the BCS formula.
