Willoughby should be given a chance at the job. Nuernberger was 13/20 (65%) on field goals last year, 8/10 from 20 to 29 yards, and only 5/10 from 40 to 49 yards. FG kicking was a big weakness on 2014, and an unreliable kicker could cost a team a national championship (just ask Bobby Bowden).
I sort of disagree with this thought. I think one guy should win the job and do all of the FGOr could see Sean handle from mid range on in and any long distance FG's will go to Jack.
It goes without saying that I have no inside knowledge to support this theory but I wondered last year if Das Boot wasn't taking his spot a little for granted and when I saw that Willoughby had been brought over I wondered if Urban hadn't seen the same thing. Nothing to be done about it during the year, but nothing wrong with generating some competition at a potentially crucial spot.
