Just Curious: What's your honest opinion of LSU?

Good football team. LSU's defense scares the bejeusus out of me. I think they're as solid a D as anyone will find at the collegiate level in America. Chad Jones scares me and I'm not sure why. I think it's because he want to some lab high school and they probably breed all americans there. Dorsey seems like the best DLineman that's rolled through CFB in a while. Steltz I imagine shot gunning beers at a party and going crazy.

Honestly after the first two weeks of the season I thought no one was going to beat Oklahoma or LSU. You guys looked that good early on. This season has definitely taken its toll though. Both teams should be pretty healthy. Shoot we might have our starting DE back who was hurt the first game for this one. It'll definitely be smash mouth football from gun to gun. I like some of our units better and some of LSU's units better. I believe we have the better coach so I hope it comes down to Les calling some stupid 4th down play that gives us the championship. Gambling in this game should prove very very costly.

Quite frankly, the truth is, that the Tigers have gone through a brutal SEC schedule and I believe are beat up a bit and just plain tired. I think the team you guys will see in the NCG, will be more akin to the one that blew out VT.

So wait, the SEC is more physical than the Big Ten is now too??

Damn.....

The Big Ten schedule isn't exactly filled with patsies here.....

Both defenses are damn good, but I have to admit that LSU's D is probably slightly better. Look at huge and fast Dorsey. In early schedule, LSU steamrolled teams including VT by many points, but later in schedule, they won by few points. It seems like Les want to keep his secret until NC? LSU probably would win, because they will play at their home state. BCS bowls are supposed to be at neutral sites. On the other hand, OSU probably would win, because we have many talents and Tressel. It's hard to predict!

This is not LSU's fault but I think VT was/is the most overrated team in the country. Va Tech really was out played in all facets of the game, yet no one mentioned SEC speed or how VT just didn't have the athletes. The 48-7 victory really doesn't impress me as much as the wins vs good SEC teams. But I do agree...both teams should be rested and hopefully healed up for a good game.

But seriously folks...which tiger will we see, the one when Dorsey had two good knees, or the one that looked like they could care less in the first half against Tennessee?

It's a solid team from the little I've seen of them and like OSU, a team that can lose a starter or two or three and still compete at the very peak of the NCAA... as oppossed to, say, Oregon, a team that fell apart when Dixon went down, or even USC when they lost their Booty.

The loss of Ginn takes away the lone burner who forces at least one safety to always play center field... as amply demonstrated in last year's Fiasco Bowl. The loss of Gonzales takes away OSU's sure handed, third down receiver. The replacements, Robiski and Hartline, aren't far off, but it is a step down.

If Beanie and Saine are ready to roll at RB, we'll hit you with as much speed and power as any one you played, except Arkansas.

This is NOT the line backer corps of two years ago, but it has matured from last year. I don't know where they were in last year's Bowl game, looked like they were lining up deeper than they did during the regular season and they were kept off balance by the uncanny accuracy of Chris Leak. How they play may be the key to the game.

The two lines have played well all season long. Speed rushers have given OSU's tackles problems from time to time, but they limited MSU's St. Dic to little or no impact, the same guy who gave Michigan and Penn State fits.

On paper it looks to me like a defensive struggle... which usually means a scoring duel. should be interesting.

That's my take...
