Parham is a good LB.

This is interesting though......

Certainly, CFN even had him on their All-ACC squad, but that doesn't change my opinion that he's making a big mistake by jumping early in a year that will probably go down as the most loaded at the LB position in history. Unless he's a combine superfreak and scores a 40 on the Wonderlic, there isn't any room for him to go higher than about the 3rd round, regardless how good a player he is.

If he returns to UVA and plays another year, then he's in the top 3 at the LB position, a Butkus finalist, and a 1st round lock.

Agents are eating up/taking advantage of the paranoia over the upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement. One of the things that the NFL has generally avoided with early entries are a flood of idiot entries based on terrible advice (see NBA). But this year, you're going to see some kids with tears in their eyes after not being drafted the first day. It's a shame. Who wouldn't listen if an agent told you that you would be drafted in the first or second round, with a big signing bonus?

He RSed, and I read where he has his degree, so probably he just felt it was time to move on. Can't really argue w/ that.

I just received 10 emails saying Bush was staying for his senior year...they said Mike&Mike announced it on the show.

Then, I got 10 more emails apologizing that they were duped by the show...they were referring to Mike Bush at Louisville.

Purdue's Kirsch will test NFL draft
Star report

Purdue announced today that quarterback Brandon Kirsch will give up his final season of collegiate eligibility and enter the NFL draft.

"I had a good time at Purdue, but I feel that it's time for me to move on," Kirsch said in a news release from Purdue. "I went through the evaluation process, talked to a lot of people, and got some good reviews. That made the decision a little easier."

Last season, Kirsch appeared in eight games, including six starts, and completed 59.1 percent of his passes (152 of 257) for 1,727 yards with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions. He rushed for 198 yards on 48 carries (4.1 average) and one touchdown.

In 25 career games, including 12 starts, Kirsch completed 59.7 percent of his passes (292 of 489) for 3,532 yards with 23 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He rushed for 757 yards on 165 carries (4.6 average) and five touchdowns.

"I think the NFL is in Brandon's heart, and he should follow his heart," Purdue head coach Joe Tiller said in the news release.

Kirsch said he will start training next week in Delaware and hopes to attend next month's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

This story will be updated.

there are 5 coming out just from the big 10 that have a good chance of going higher. he may not even see the first day of drafting. while the money side of things is the big reason. this is an absolutely horrible year for underclassmen to come out. i think alot of guys who are coming out this year will end up being picked so low they would likely have made more even under the new nfl draft rules. it will be interesting to see what kind of an effect this influx of talent has on the nfl.

Well, according to my calculator (32 x 53 = 1,696) there are only 1,696 jobs available in the NFL and only 255 slots in the draft.

There are going to be a lot of disappointed underclassmen when they wake-up on May 1, 2006.

There was speculation on the radio Tuesday night (local ESPN station) that the Packers are VERY interested in LenDale White ... that pushes AJ out of the top 5 if true.

No way they take White with the #5. Their D blows and are in need of an immediate difference maker.

That said, I'd love to see him drop out of the top 5 and be there for the Raiders at #6. I want AJ in Silver and black.
