Junior World Championship (Canton, Jun 27-July 5)

i don't really know what else to say about this, 71-0 with about 7 minutes left. i know the US coach much be trying to come up with some way to stop his team from scoring without getting someone injured, but if he has the team throw then it's one missed tackle away from a TD, and the RBs basically need to fall down on their own to be stopped. at this point it's a little depressing

They didn't surrender, they've got that going for them.

french jokes aside, i hope those dudes can rebound. that's a tough thing for a high school kid to have to experience a beatdown of that magnitude, and hopefully it doesn't sully their experience in canton.

also ruiz got the MVP for france, well deserved for his special teams work. AND he somehow didn't accumulate negative yards on the ground.

also also i wanna see storm klein at RB at some point, i'm really curious to see how he runs.

71-0 prison raping = sullied experience. Sorry, no way around that one.

It was 78-0. I won't argue with the rest of the description.

So I type slow...

Seriously though:

0-12 on 3rd down? They didn't fly 3933 miles (Paris to Canton) thinking that it would be a hopeless, pointless exercise in futility.

But they gave up 28 points in the 4th quarter (more than in any other quarter), when the USA team was trying to take it easy on them. That is a thoroughly beaten team.

And it was 12-minute quarters.
