Well, you've got much better ears than I and the folks I was referring to in that post...

I mean, now that I've heard Pineda's versions of just about everything they tour with, I can pick out the differences...but if it was the first time I was hearing Pineda, I'd have absolutely no idea.

Agreed, and anybody who ever seriously listened to these guys know there is a big difference between Steve Perry and Pineda.

I actually enjoyed listening to Steve Augeri because although he sounded like Perry, he didn't present as an "imitator." Pineda sounds like Perry, but to me this is no coincidence. He's trying to.

Bottom line is this. Journey "Pre-Perry" or Journey "Post-Perry" never did nor will they ever surpass Journey WITH Perry.

I was a huge Journey fan up until the last album that Perry was on. Unfortunately they just got to poppy\sappy in the end. Kind of reminded me of the Styx meltdown at the end.
