Josh Brent (official thread)

Rivals $

7/23/06

By EdgyTim...Josh visited Illinois this weekend. He is officially visiting OSU on 12/8 but that could change. His top 6 in no particuloar order is Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Arizona State.

Josh says that tOSU and Illinois have a slight to solid lead over Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He plans on deciding after his season. He wants to do track and field (shot put) in college as well, and Illinois has said no problem, whereas tOSU has said ok, but expressed reservations about it taking up too much time.

Sounds to me like Wilson, Hughes, and Brent (maybe Benn) are waiting to see if Illinois makes any real improvement before they decide anything. Seems like they want to go there but if they throw up a 2-10 season they are going elsewhere. Here is rooting for the 2-10 season....

Ron Zook is a good recruiter, but has yet to prove his coaching abilities...

Plus, we shouldn't have to root for that. With our lack of depth at DT, all we should have to do is keep the heat on and get him over for some games and an official. Also, if Josh goes to the game in Champaign, he'll see a blow-out. That should be about all we need to do, regardless of Illinois' record...

While working his team, Zook also had time to meet with the state's top three prep seniors. Chicago Hubbard running back Robert Hughes, Chicago Simeon defensive end Martez Wilson and Bloomington Central Catholic defensive end Josh Brent made unofficial recruiting visits Saturday.
