Joseph Barksdale (OL Arizona Cardinals)

Because I have no doubt about Barksdale. I have about as good as a source as I can get here and others with close sources say the exact same thing. I gurantee that the people calling Barksdale to OSU are more informed to the Texas insiders. They have some bad info.

If this is accurate, congrats. As an Irish fan, this is one player I coveted in the Class of 2007. I'm envious of the defensive talent that seems to flock to Columbus.

Updates like the last one aren't really telling as to which school a recruit likes the best.

When a media guy asks a recruit what they though of each of a list of schools, they're simply going to compliment each school equally. There is a big difference in saying a school looks nice and such, and feeling comfortable, and wanting to go to a certain place.

For those of you who remember taking college visits, you'll probably remember a campus that was cool looking, or had a friend going there. However, it always comes down to what is best for you.

Plus you won't find any recruit who will be rude and not give a compliment to a school who is offering them a full scholarship.....

Are you counting Trattou? Most people here seem to think he'll become a DT and a good one at that.

Nope. While most people have said that, Trattou has said he prefers to play DE. So until he officially makes the switch, he's an end in my book.

The only true DT we've recruited has been Derrell Hand, and he saw no playing time last year. Like I said, BARE.

yikes, sounds like ND could be in serious trouble if they strike out on DT's this year.

OSU is pretty thin at DT as well. RS Soph Abdallah (slides around on the DL), RS Frosh Denlinger, True Frosh Larimore, and a DT transfer from Auburn.

Barksdale would definitely be in the mix to make the two deep the minute he steps on campus.

I'm sure at least one of the DE's will be moved over to the middle at some point. Regardless there is certainly an opportunity for a kid to come in and play early at the DT position...

Not to state the obvious, but it takes a lot more than just the right measureables to be a good DT, it takes the right mindset. DT is a very tough position to play. They get very little publicity, do not make a lot of tackles and get double teamed and chopped all day. You have to be one tough SOB to play the middle and you have to WANT to play it.

DE has a much different dynamic to it. With sacks and TFL's the DE position has almost become the most 'glamorous' on the defensive side of the ball. DE's also get to play in space and do not get DT from all directions like a DT.
