Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

That kind of vicious passive aggression is simply not called for...

...treasured, yes, but not called for.:yay2:

I'm being serious, too. I didn't watch the game, but from what I understand, whoever their starter was - Mettenberger, or something - got hurt, and they still didn't put Hackenberg in. They put someone named Silvers, or something, in. I'm guessing they have the same roster issues as the NFL, so they couldn't or shouldn't carry more than 3 quarterbacks. So if Manziel is on the team (who knows if he's on the roster right away), and Mettenberg is still alive, that'll put them at Hackenberg vs. Silvers. Unless Hackenberg is hurt, also, Silvers appears to be the coach's (Mike Singletary) choice to play.

Memphis is 1-5 and playing worse than their record.

I think signing Manziel is a Hail Mary to get people to buy tickets to their games and stay cash positive.

The league owns the teams, and it appears this was Bill Polian's decision.

Johnny Manziel agrees to join Fan Controlled Football startup league

Johnny Manziel has agreed to resume his playing career with a startup league called Fan Controlled Football, he told ESPN this week.

The league, scheduled to begin play in February, will feature 7-on-7 games where fans set rosters, call plays and interact in a blend of traditional and esports environments.

"The more I heard about what this was going to be, the more I felt it was going to be something that was just very fun," Manziel said. "It's going to be very fan-oriented and something I could get behind without being extremely, extremely, extremely serious, the way that my football career has been in the past."

Just sayin': He had good athleticism to avoid the rush; but he just threw that one up for grabs. It was a lucky catch. It was 3rd and 8 on the 34; (most coaches would probably say) he should have thrown it out of bounds, and either try again on 4th down or go for a field goal.
