Johnny Manziel, eager to play in CFL, still in talks with Tiger-Cats

Not really sure why this is news, since he's just on their back burner.

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel is eager to play in the Canadian Football League and is continuing to discuss a potential contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

"This is something he very much wants," said the source, who added that a deal could take some time...Kent Austin, Hamilton's vice president of football operations, said he'll consider Manziel as an option for the future, but "that's not imminent. We're not signing Johnny right now."

Well yeah, but more like a guy who was successful and is maybe in the twilight of his career/isn’t getting NFL offers anymore. Johnny is a never was and the CFL is supposed trip over their feet for the guy? This clown wants to make demands as if he has alternatives. It’s not like he can say “pay me what I want or I’ll go elsewhere!” He has nowhere to go. I guess we’ll see who is more desperate: Johnny (for a job) or the CFL (for Johnny :slappy:.)

From the CFL standpoint, assuming he's not still a moron (he is), they're looking at a polarizing, mobile QB who could potentially find his game in the CFL while also selling tickets and helping their ratings on American TV. But as long as he still thinks he's a star who should get big bucks and be guaranteed a job, it's not going to happen.

Sure but I guess the part I’m confused about is the selling tickets part. Do Canadians give a shit about a lazy, entitled, rich, druggie from the States? Don’t they have playbooks in Canada?
