I think hollywood is a license to act like a douchebag and just get away with it. If this guy pulled this in the real world he probably wouldn't have many friends

Yeah, but then reportedly his camp denied that and said he's dead serious.

Which IMO makes it more likely that it IS an act.

If it he really had stumbled onto Letterman twice baked then his people would be in full damage control mode.
