ESPN can't get anymore pathetic.

I am NOT defending E$PiN...

But, I think the fucking NFL is more pathetic, because they are the dumb-fucks that suspended Pryor for 5 games. I won't go into it, because it doesn't fit in this thread, but suffice to say that it's more an issue with the NFL.

I'm watching the Baylor/TCU game on E$PiN, and they have mentioned the Tress hiring twice without hinting at the suspension.

I'm interested though:

Take away the fact that it is tOSU, Pryor and Tress. Lets say the NFL suspended Bush for a season when he came out because the NCAA had, then Carroll jumped to the Seahawks job after being hit with a suspension.

Do you think he should be suspended, along with Bush?

I'm not asking should Pryor have been suspended, I'm asking based on the fact Pryor WAS suspended, do you think Tress should too?

I'm genuinely interested in peoples thoughts, not trying to make a moral statement or anything.

I was actually thinking the same thing.. It's a legitimate question in my IMO. A ridiculous situation, but a legitimate question. But either way, fuck the NCAA.

Wish The Vest the best of luck in Indy.

The NFL had to set a precedent with TP though. He wasn't ineligible for the entire season until he hired an agent. At that point he was done for the season.

The supplemental draft is designed for extreme circumstances where a draft eligible player becomes available after that years draft. TP would have been eligible after he refused to speak with the NCAA but that was secondary to Roger Godell. TP basically eliminatd himself from collegiant play by hiring Rosenhaus.

The 5 game suspension draws a line in the sand. If you're a player who opted for another year of college, and then regret it, you can't just hire an agent and become eligible for the supplemental draft without serving some sort of a suspension.

And that is why ESPN is stupid for even questioning if Tressel should have a suspension. The NFL isn't suspending TP for 5 games b/c that is what was on the docket in the NCAA. They are suspending him 5 games b/c of the way he entered the supplemental draft. Jim Tressel has nothing to do with that...

Sooo.... Yesterday, while flying home from San Diego, I ran into a guy while getting a bite in the ATL airport who mentioned he was from Ohio and likes the Buckeyes.... I then asked if he had heard the news about Tress being hired by the Colts.... His eyes bulged and he looked shocked and the following questions went as follows: "WHAT? He Left OSU? Who is going to coach the Buckeyes?"

This was YESTERDAY!!!

How in the name of Zeuses butthole can you not have heard anything about Jim Tressell, the Buckeyes, the Tat5 (he said he did know about the tat5), and all the shenanigans we have seen over the last 9 months????
I shook my head, paid for my food, and walked to my gate....

Okay, so I just taught my wife a very important lesson (this is along the ShaggyBevo thread's lines).

She's a huge Colts fan. Actually, I should say she's a huge Manning fan. If he ever left the Colts, she's following him.

In any case, she's given college football the cold shoulder when it comes to all of the off season news, even with all the scandals in the off season.

So then the news comes down that Coach Tressel will be working for the Colts. I tell her, and she's trying to catch up on almost a year's worth of news.

But I'm only giving her bits and pieces. At one point in time, I had her thinking that JT was Nevin Shapiro and vice versa, LOL.

At the end of every story I tell her, she says, "Oh, for real?!?"

Me: "Not really. Maybe that'll learn you that you need to follow college athletics."

Her: :smash:

I'll take that bet.

If he's a HC again it will be college.

If I was JT, I would never even consider coaching in college again. He already had the best job in the business. Wherever he goes and is successful, the bullshit, and innuendo will follow, he doesn't need it.
