That was the first date suggested on the previous page - January 18th.

Thank you for what you've brought to the State of Ohio, the flagship university, the alumni, the fans, the young men and women connected with your program, all of College Football that is made better by your presence - and most importantly what you've brought to the city of Ann Arbor Michigan.
What you give the man who has everything: Ohio State's Jim Tressel
By Steve Berkowitz and Rachel Leven
In 2006, USA TODAY published excerpts from the seven-year contract Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel had signed earlier that year. At that time, the deal was worth $17.4 million, not including benefits, incentives or perks. Since then, the Buckeyes have played in two BCS national title games, won five consecutive Big Ten Conference championships and averaged 11 wins per season.
Along the way, Tressel's contract has been amended three times, making it a nine-year deal worth $24.5 million?although if he stays on the job through Jan. 31, he will have collected a little more than $2.1 million more in longevity bonuses. As before, this does not include other incentives ? or the value of a plan for Tressel's employment when he is done coaching. That was added in 2008 and already has been upgraded.
Possible Ohio State employment after Tressel is through with the Buckeyes
Added in 2008
Upon notice that he intends to terminate, he may ask Ohio State for a "non-tenure track faculty position." If he asks and "Ohio State does not have 'cause' to terminate. .. Ohio State shall make" such a position available.
In 2010
Upon notice that he intends to terminate, he may ask Ohio State for an associate athletics director position. If he asks and "Ohio State does not have 'cause' to terminate. .. and if Ohio State does not wish to terminate this Agreement 'other than for cause' " and pay accordingly, Ohio State "shall" make such a position available. The job would pay $150,000 annually.

I don't believe he is ever leaving TOSU. I don't think he would have ever left YSU if not for TOSU job. There may have been 1 or 2 other jobs he may have taken besides TOSU, but if none of them came calling, he would've been a YSU lifer imo...

I'm not sure if he's going to retire from coaching that he'd take the job as the head of the biggest athletic department in the country, if he decides he wants to continue working I'm sure they'll give him some cushy position in the AD office though (he's actually already got that stipulation in his contract right?)

Can I get a second, and some suggestions for the date? Maybe between New Year's and NLOID?

Tressel: Don't pressure me to fire assistants
Jim Tressel was on a conference call Wednesday with Arkansas media, and had a few interesting tidbits.
The first was in response to a comment that he has never had a real "down" year and therefore, has never been under any pressure to fire any of his assistant coaches.
Here's what Tressel said:
"We?ve been fortunate. We?ve got great guys on our coaching staff. We?ve not had to be confronted with that ?Hey, you better make some changes? moment. I?d like to think we?ll never be faced with that. They might have to throw me out of here before I want to face one of those situations."
To all of those who have clamored for Tressel to get rid of offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Jim Bollman over the years, this is the most definitive statement yet from Tressel that shows he will never do that.
He basically is saying that he will not fire an assistant because of external pressure, period. He'll put his own job on the line for that principle.

Tressel can't close. We have heard it for so long we can just use the abbreviation, "TCC". There were rumblings even before the National Championship game in the 2006-2007 season. After that most forgettable game the bottom fell out of recruiting. It looked like one of those years that Buckeye fans would always remember. A National Championship and the number one recruiting class. Fans were talking about it like was just a matter of time. A player like Joseph Barksdale, rumored to be a Buckeye even before the season started verballed LSU. It seemed to steamroll from there. Tressel can't close.
