No doubt. Especially not if the former player was like on College Gameday or something.

Herbstreit Denies OSU Athletic Director's Charges
'GameDay' Not Welcome This Weekend
UPDATED: 12:53 pm EST November 17, 2004
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN college football commentator Kirk Herbstreit said he was surprised and denied statements made earlier Tuesday by athletic director Andy Geiger. The feud stems from allegations made in ESPN The Magazine by ex-Buckeye tailback Maurice Clarett.Geiger said he did not want ESPN's "College Gameday" in Columbus on Saturday for the annual showdown between Ohio State and Michigan, WCMH-TV reported.Geiger mentioned that he was upset at the network due its continued pursuit of the Clarett story. Some of the comments Geiger made were directed at Herbstreit."I understand that one of the stars of ESPN 'GameDay' went off on us a bit last night on the air," Geiger said. "I didn't hear it myself. This is secondhand, that we think we're getting bigger than college football. This is the same individual who, four weeks ago after we lost three straight games, said on the air that he didn't see how he could recommend Ohio State to a young man who wants to play offensive football.

Gator, your UF squad has the privilege of being coached by a brilliant head coach. Urban Meyer is without question one of the finest minds in the game of football, and he has taken full advantage of the inherent qualities of Gainesville and the University in order to secure phenomenal talent to load the Gator football team. You can be justifiably proud to have this excellent coach, and I know you are.Gatorubet;1469965; said:Tress is a well spoken man who represents his program very well. MaxBuck;1469994; said:With that being said, Jim Tressel is a rare leader who exhibits Christian values in a way that I've seldom seen on the national scene. He's obviously not perfect, but he does not "go off" on anyone, even those who have demonstrably damaged the program and publicly trashed him (Maurice Clarett ring a bell?). Meyer handles things like the Matthews situation differently -- probably about the way I would; that doesn't mean he handles them as I would idealize. Suggesting that the leadership styles of Meyer and Tressel are comparable? That's just absurd.
Gatorubet;1469965; said:Unlike some, the extent of the ass wipe journalist from Dayton, Ohio's knowledge surrounding the Matthews situation is likely what he knows about it from his reading ESpin.

Tressel to visit troops this week
Sunday, May 24, 2009
With his trip to visit U.S. military installations in the Middle East coming up, Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel had to make sure he had a passport.
"I've never been overseas in my life, even though my kids have," said Tressel, 56. "I had to get a passport one other time, maybe seven or eight years ago, for a Nike thing in Mexico. I've got one stamp on it."
That will change beginning Wednesday, when Tressel departs, along with fellow coaches Mack Brown of Texas, Houston Nutt of Mississippi and Troy Calhoun of Air Force, and former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville.
The Department of Defense-sponsored tour will include visits to Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and possibly Iraq. They will return on June 4.
"I can't wait to get there; it's going to be a lot of fun," Tressel said. "I want to make sure those young men and women know we appreciate what they're doing and that everyone back home is thinking about them.
"And it sheds a little different light on this (Memorial Day) weekend."
Jim Tressel's pros and cons of expanding Big Ten
By: Andrew Perloff
Ohio State coach Jim Tressel joined the show before heading to Iraq later this week to see the troops.
Tressel said that LeBron James told him he could play wide receiver for him, and Tressel didn't disagree. Tressel described his high school film as "frightening." And Tressel said that he would have run basically all fade routes to LeBron.
Tressel said he'd consider expansion for the Big Ten, which would allow them to have a conference championship game.
Tressel said that if you do a lie detector on coaches that have conference championship games, they'd admit there are some negatives. Tressel said that a championship game loss really takes the wind out of a team's sails before a bowl game.
Dan asked Tressel which he'd ideally like to have join the Big Ten. Tressel wouldn't comment directly on the odds of Notre Dame joining the conference. Tressel said one downside is that Notre Dame wouldn't enlarge the geographic reach of the conference. Tressel asked if Notre Dame would add market. Tressel also said there are lots of other factors.
thanks to you for your service. and for all those on active duty, reserve and vets.EidoloN;1473717; said:Coach Tress stopped through my base on the way overseas, so he, Wake Forest Coach and the Air Force Coach were at our gym from 0830-1030 this morning. Man, it was a long wait to get to Coach Tressel, he had the longest line the whole day. I thanked him many times for going to support fellow troops, and to take time out to visit us even though he was leaving to head to Germany that same day. The coaches brought a whole lot of things and were giving them away. So I took some shirts and hats, and had JT sign them, and I also brought along The Winners Manual so he could sign it for me. What a stand-up, classy guy. He is the epitome of a Buckeye! I added a couple pics of the wife and I with The Man, and I told him I hope I see him again on September 12.....
kudos to all these coaches, for their time/energy. i think sometimes they underestimate the impact they might have.Tressel, Mack Brown, Troy Calhoun, Jim Grobe, Rick Neuheisel, Houston Nutt and Tommy Tuberville
ive been told that it has to be an adjacent state to join and those are the ones that would be key... (id guess and look at the rutgers, cuse, mizzou, (nebraska-who allegedly wanted in in the worst way in the 90s)ScriptOhio;1473722; said:Re: Dan asked Tressel which he'd ideally like to have join the Big Ten. That's not exactly true, as Notre Dame has a substantial "national following". There are a significant number of Notre Dame fans in every state in the union.
