With the first game loss in the Big 10 Tournament, I'm wondering if folks have any thoughts about my previous post?:(

Is there something wrong with 4 straight B10 championships?StillAWagonFan;1111353; said:With the first game loss in the Big 10 Tournament, I'm wondering if folks have any thoughts about my previous post?:(

I did, was just wondering why all the doubt.OregonBuckeye;1111379; said:Read his previous post, BB.

No, but there is something wrong with only one of those teams making the sweet 16 and getting knocked out by Marist in the first round. This is Ohio State, we shouldn't be content with Big Ten titles.Best Buckeye;1111356; said:Is there something wrong with 4 straight B10 championships?
If that's what you are satisfied with then there is no problem, you may read my post also regarding Foster. He wins Big 10 championships but that does not bring national recognition to the Ohio State women's program. It might bring regional recognition but not national. Ohio is loaded with big-time high school girls basketball teams and yet he seems to let many of those leaving the state. As I mentioned in my post, I also just don't like his coaching philosophy.Best Buckeye;1111356; said:Is there something wrong with 4 straight B10 championships?
Don't forget Shay Selby from Regina going to Duke. I think she's a guard.crazybuckfan40;1112288; said:I really don't know...I hate to lose Dunning and Gray, and also the big girl from Sandusky Perkins going to Florida St...
3 McDonald's all american top 25 talent in womens basketball from the state of ohio going out of state...
The thing is the two we brought in it is hard to argue they are not top tier talent...One all american and Ronnie Stokes daughter...We needed guards and Dunning and the girl from Perkins are bigs...
But overall I think with a little bit of hard work we should be able to really take this program to the next level...I do think that we have stepped it up in terms of the overall athleticism that has been missing to compete with the team like UT, LSU, Rutgers, Dook, etc...
Can't argue the 4 big ten titles in a row, and Lavendar is going to be one of the very best in college bball by her senior year and with some athletic guards and some other big girls, could put us into national title contention...Maybe wishful thinking a little, but curious to see what the girl from NY brings...
It's not just this year but it has been past years that have contributed to the problem. He has lost some big-time recruits since he has been here two schools out of state. I will give him props for Lavender but that's about it. The girl that he has brought in from New York is playing in the McDonald's All-American game so he gets props for her and I would never deny Amber Stokes a scholarship but that is only this year.crazybuckfan40;1112288; said:I really don't know...I hate to lose Dunning and Gray, and also the big girl from Sandusky Perkins going to Florida St...

I cannot address everything you stated because we just disagree on Foster.crazybuckfan40;1112763; said:You have to believe that Foster tried to land these top flight girls...
He has done a good job pulling some talent from Illinois and out of Michigan...

Michigan's girls basketball is not very good. In fact don't they play in the Spring? Whatever, they do not play very good girls basketball in that state.
Riley is a senior and cannot shoot a open 14' jump shot.
Moeller was supposed be the greatest thing coming out of Ohio a couple years ago and she really hasn't shown very much. We do not have an offensive PG.
I am getting tired of hearing about youth. Coaches need to adjust their recruiting classes so they don't have to play a lot of freshmen and sophomores.
Walker is 6'5" and is not a very good player in my opinion. At 6'5" you would think she should be able to get some rebounds and play solid defense.
I will wait on the Illinois ladies to see how they improve.
I do not like his offensive philosophy or is recruiting philosophy so we just disagree. Enough said.
Read my earlier posts in this thread. If you are satisfied with regular season Big 10 championships that is fine. I don't know much about women's basketball anyhow.crazybuckfan40;1112841; said:Just curious what you would do...I understand that there is room for improvement, but this was suppossed to be a transistion year and we still won the conference...
I think that with our frosh last year and the emergence of Little we have become more athletic, which I thought was our problem the past couple of years...
Ohio State women's basketball: Foster named to women?s hall of fame

Ohio State women's basketball coach Jim Foster learned yesterday that he will be part of the 2013 class for the Women?s Basketball Hall of Fame.
The news caught Jim Foster in transit, which is not unusual during an open window in the recruiting season for a Division I college basketball coach.
The Ohio State coach was ending 10 days on the road by driving home from Atlanta, Ga., with his wife, Donna, who already was in the city visiting their son Christian and his family.
Foster had learned earlier yesterday that he would be part of the 2013 class for the Women?s Basketball Hall of Fame.
A man who wears personal awards as uncomfortably as he might a tuxedo spun from wool, Foster paused for a long moment before he began to put his selection into words.
?It?s an honor, obviously,? he said. ?It says I?ve been around a long time and around a lot of good players and a lot of good coaches.?
Foster is entering his 11th season at Ohio State and his 35th overall in college coaching. He began his collegiate career and spent 13 seasons at St. Joseph?s before moving to Vanderbilt for 11 more.
He is one of two Division I coaches ? in the men?s or women?s game ? to win at least 200 games at three different programs.
His overall record is 765-294, and his teams have made 27 postseason appearances. The number includes 26 trips to the NCAA Tournament and 10 straight in his 10 seasons with the Buckeyes.
