Jim Bollman (Stay calm and run Dave)

Just wondering... Did Jim Bollman pee in Earl Bruce's corn flakes, or run off with his wife? About three times a year I hear the post game show with Earl and company and the old coach goes out of his way to ding the guy.

Is there a fued? Bad blood? Or is it simply serious philosophical differences?

Nah, Earl's just been watching the games.

Earl Bruce obviously loves the program and he has a coaches' perspective. If he smells trouble, we should too.

Sorry if this is "bashing" but I thought it was funny:

Looking for an Offensive Coordinator. Needs to know about the forward pass, especially play-action and screens. Must not look like a walrus.

If you are able to run an offense at a level higher than middle school, please call me.

I can't take that postgame show. Saying that, I had no idea what Bruce would have againstBollman because he (Bruce) thinks you ought to be able to run the ball against a 8-9 men line. No matter the down or distance. Maybe Bruce doesn't like corn flakes.

I was thinking that he could be a little more creative in his play calling, this method could work for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd downs regardless of yardage needed:

they couldn't do any worse than they are currently doing and at least the plays definitely wouldn't be predictable.

That method is already being used:

False starts really help setup the draw play on third and long.

And we thought he wasn't developing the linemen. Shugarts is clearly just a quick and very dedicated learner.

More to your point, I couldn't help but laugh when the announcer wondered out loud how a LB could fall for a play action draw on third and long.

Jim Bollman, the only OC in the country capable of making a LB think running a draw on 3rd and 15 is actually what you are going to do at least once a game (which totally makes all of the other fake draws that failed miserably and directly led to numerous sacks totally worth it).

Perhaps the execution will improve if the team stops practicing those pesky screen passes and such in practice that they aren't using in games. There is no use in practicing it if they aren't going to use it.

If all we're going to run is a variation of Dave then I think we need to practice Dave all week until we can get it right.

Please note the sarcasm font.
