All I can say is Caldwell better get to the SB now, because he gave up a chance to do something historic, much to the obvious chagrin of PM and a lot of the opther players. If they fall on their ass in the playoffs, he'll have a lot to answer for.

I don't get this at all. Of all teams, the Colts are the one that can actually hurt themselves by resting their starters. Their offense (and therefore their overall success) is predicated on Peyton Manning and his receivers being in a rhythm. Putting guys on the bench disrupts that.

People talk about going undefeated in the regular season and winning the Super Bowl as if they are mutually exclusive. That's stupid. Only one team has ever done both because it's damn hard to do and only the greatest even get a sniff of it. All of the other teams that have won the Super Bowl did not do so because the lost a game - they won it because they were a good football team playing their best at the most important time of the year. Conversely, the team that came close to doing it but failed, the Patriots, did not lose the Super Bowl because the neglected to lose a meaningless game along the way. They lost because the Giants defensive line beat their ass and Eli Manning made great plays in the closing moments of that game.

Part of me says how can you just throw away a chance at history? The other part of me says with a bench that shitty you better protect your starters.

The Jets? They just say thank you.

Goodell talks about expanding the regular season to 18 games and cutting down the preseason games to 2 because two of the four preseason games are so boring because teams only play their first string players for about a quarter and then you get a game like this in the regular season. I am not betting on any NFL games next week because who the hell knows who will be put on the field.

Oh, I forgot that this was the same team that kept Browns out of playoffs by doing the very same thing a couple years ago and the Titans got in:(

Look for the Bengals and Pats lines to be really messed up this week. Knowing the Pats they may actually play to win, but who knows. If the Pats win, the Bengals have nothing to play for. So the Bengals might not play many starters. If the Pats lose, again, who knows what the Bengals will do. They could move up a seed, but what does that really do?

It will be a goofy betting week, that is for sure.

It looked to me like Peyton was pretty pissed. Winning another Super Bowl is nothing to sneeze at but I guarantee the competitor in him wanted to be out there going for a perfect season. It would be a signature moment in a Hall of Fame career.

I would be disappointed in any player that wasn't pissed in that situation. You always want to win, or at least you should.

Of course, the Colts fans and talking heads ripping Caldwell now would be on the other side of the debate if he left Manning in and he got his leg rolled up and tore his ACL in the 4th quarter.
