Then with the helmets, pants, and gloves, I thought OK.
Now, with that picture - I think they look pretty bad ass.

89 is a two digit number, so unless that isn't the actual helmet, I'd say there's a good chance it's blank on the side (like it should be for 1954).
You can see virtually the entire side of the helmet.
