Ummm... I'm going to be spending the weekend downtown (I live here) with a couple of other tOSU alum... I may or may not go into the Chicago Nike Town just to burn the thing. :paranoid:

Walk in and go to the left. They should be on the mannequins right by the first escalators. At least this is where I saw them. The mannequins they are placed on, are freaking HUGE. You cannot miss them. They should also have a ton of NikePro stuff on.

And you didn't find it your responsibility to destroy said example when you saw it the first time? Hmmmm...

Looking in the official Ohio State football encyclopedia noticed a few things

#1 At least at home they wore a long sock that had the Gray stripe around the calf that was identical to the gray stripe that was featured on the home jerseys (both back then and before 2006 save the 80s). Be interesting to see if they incorporate that at least for the guys that want to wear long socks

#2 Ohio State and Michigan both wore home jerseys for the game in Columbus, I know it's been mentioned on here the possibilities of doing that ala UCLA-USC

#3 If your going to honor a team during the Michigan game this would be a good one to do so given how THE game played out that year, it was definitely a hard fought game filled with heart where little known players contributed big.

Michigan came out with a "new offensive formation" with an unbalanced line and moved down the field on the opening drive scoring on a "double handoff reverse"" to take the early lead

It stayed scoreless till 3 minutes left in the half until Michigan quarterback threw an interception to linebacker Jack Gibbs (who seldom saw playing time) and he returned it all the way to the 10. From there quarterback Dave Leggett (who had replaced a senior captain as the starting quarterback, *cough*) threw a touchdown pass to end Fred Kriss to tie the score 7-7

No score in the 3rd, at the beginning of the 4th Michigan had the ball first down at the Ohio State 4 and the defense stopped them 6 inches short of the goal line. OSU turned around and drove the length of the field breaking Michigan's back with a another Leggett touchdown pass to end Dick Brubaker. Cassady tacked on a td in the final seconds to make it a 21-7 final to give Woody his first trip to Pasadena (I might point out that Tressel has not been to Pasadena yet either, although obviously that's just sort of been how the bowl selections have worked out)

I briefly heard Hooley describing the 54' away jerseys--stripes and colors, etc.--so I made a quick mock up of what I thought I heard him describe. Does this look accurate?

Close...this is what the 1954 away jersey looked like:

I love the way the shoulder striping looks. If they keep this general idea we might have a winner folks. That helmet is white, by the way.
