To the Fans of Jericho:
Wow! Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of "Jericho" for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more "Jericho," we will need more viewers. A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that "Jericho" will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting "Jericho" on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of "Jericho" in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference. Sincerely, - Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. Please stop sending us nuts :)

i'm throwing the BS flag here. you had a new show that had no loyalty in a fanbase. it starts becoming quite popular. you give it a 3 month hiatus in the winter, then start it back up with no real advertising. Stick a 20 second spot in during one of the 300 CSI spinoffs frought with poor acting. Ahhh, but you only advertise for the real CSI, your only true cash cow at that time. Yet, you wonder how incidents like these happen and you end up with tons of peanuts.

For anyone who noticed, Jericho made its triumphant return to CBS Tuesday night at 10:00. And triumphant it was. I think they finally know where this show is heading and the plot is getting great.

For those who are paying attention, discussion below. For those who Tivo'd it and don't want the season premier ruined stop reading now.

******SPOILER ALERT******

OKay, so all states west of the Mississippi except Texas are part of the Allied Western States, Capital: Cheyenne, Wyoming. All other states except Texas are part of the scattered remains of what was the United States of America, Capital: Columbus, Ohio.

Valliante, the bad guy seeking Hawkins is apparently high up the government in the Allied Western States. Both sides are trying to swoon Texas. If the West gets them, its all over bu tthe crying. The new government will be capable of overrunning the Eastern states and unite the country under the new government. IF Texas sides with the East, its virtually a stalemate, and something big will be needed to swing the favor to one side.

Jake is going to be Sheriff of the town that once ran him off. Constantino (of Newbern) supposedly has been deposed as Sheriff of Newbern and is now a factory worker, under the protection of the Major who rode in with the 10th Mountain Division. They arrived with what looked like two squadrons of Helos, at least one A-10 Warthog in support from somewhere and a lot of men.

They are looking for someone, we assum its Hawkins, and one flyer was going out to aid their search for Sarah, the chick that showed up and was killed by Hawkins' Daughter.

One of the men in this unit is Chavez, one of the agents working with Hawkins.

Anyone have any thoughts on the return of this show?

BTW the first three episodes of Season 2 have been out on bittorrent for several weeks.

So if you absolutely can't wait for the next two episodes (or if you missed the one just aired) you can download 'em.

CBS is once again, giving Jericho the axe. Despite the fact that Jericho's ratings are better than some shows they are keeping, Jericho was a show I believe they set up to fail. They have it on the 10pm tuesday time slot, folowing the dismally rated Big Brother. Big brother survives of course because Julie Chen is married to a major CBS executive. No way he'd allow his wife's show to be cancelled. Even thoug it takes up three time slots a week and all of them are rated outside of the top 25 network tv shows.

So apparently, unless CBS gets their collective heads out of their asses or Jericho gets picked up by a network that will give it a fair chance, tomorrow night at 10 will be the last episode of Jericho.

Not a bad series ending despite the fact they probably had little notice to wrap up the storyline. I honestly did not see the Hawkins/Phone guy twist coming.
It gave enough that if we never see it again we'll be satisfied, but clearly left th door open for a pickup by another network. Thoughts?

There are rumors of the SciFi channel picking it up. I hope they do. I TIVO'd Tuesday's show and haven't watched it yet.

'Jericho' Looking For A New Cable Network Home

"Jericho" could rise from the ashes--again. This time it could air on a traditional cable network.

Cable network programming executives say CBS Paramount Television, the producer of "Jericho," has been casually asking about resurrecting the show--after two on-again, off-again seasons at CBS.

Executives say Paramount has been talking to a number of networks--including Sci-Fi Channel and Hallmark Channel. Paramount could be looking at three partners for a new deal, perhaps including a cable operator such as Comcast in the mix--as well as trimming back production costs for the show.
....

The problem with re-starting the show is the show's high $2-million-plus-per-episode price tag. But having two or three partners--possibly co-running the series--would make the financial model work.

Jon Turteltaub Plans to Bring Jericho to the Big Screen

Jericho is the TV show that won't die. It originally premiered on CBS in 2006 only to get cancelled after a handful of episodes. After the fans campaigned to have it brought back by sending the network truckloads of nuts, Jericho was given another half season. And now, episodes are being reaired on the CW, where it garners bigger ratings than critically acclaimed shows like Mad Men. According to an interview in If Magazine, producer John Turteltaub is planning to bring the series back as a big screen feature film sometime later this year.

Turteltaub stated, "It's fun to see the show won't die. We're developing a feature for Jericho. It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of what's going on beyond the town in Jericho."

The producer confirmed that the entire cast of the series would be back for the film. And then he talks about the budget, "Anything would be a huge budget compared to what we were dealing with. If we had $40 million dollars to make a movie with, that's 20 times more than we did before."
